Amanda Sinclair is back in Genoa City, and it turns out her only purpose is to stir the pot on Y&R. Cane Ashby doesn’t have anything for her to do. The current state of Amanda’s friendship with Phyllis Summers is a joke. The only opportunity that might turn out to be anything is, not so surprisingly, with Billy Boy Abbott.
Y&R Flashback: Amanda & Billy’s Friendship Without Benefits
Once upon a time, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) had a VERY close friendship. In fact, they almost crossed the line several times after several times of confiding in one another.
Right now, Amanda is back in Genoa City with almost nothing to do. She’s been assigned by her boss, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), to develop a friendship with his ex, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). What a joke! Lily has been quite bitchy lately, but she isn’t dumb. Lily will no doubt have her guard up where Amanda is concerned, as she will run to Cane with any and all tidbits Lily may give up.
Another way for Amanda to stir the pot in Genoa City… To reboot her friendship with Lily’s ex, Billy Abbott, with or without benefits.
Billy Boy Abbott & That Dress Woman, Next to Done
Billy Abbott is about to have plenty of free time to reboot his friendship with Amanda Sinclair. Billy Boy has all but pushed That Dress Woman, Sally Spectra, out of his life, both personally and professionally. Sally was about to move in and hadn’t even gotten a bag in the door when Billy doubled down on whatever it takes to get back to Chancellor and pushed his brother Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) into rescinding his investment in Abbott Communications.
Sally Spectra left a VERY good job at Marchetti to work at Abbott Communications with Billy. He’s led her on personally and professionally, and she’s about to be left with nothing. Sally will somehow land back on her feet and will be better off in the long run. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) ALWAYS wins.
Cane’s AI Experiment Managed by Amanda Sinclair
Who better to oversee Cane’s AI experiment than Amanda Sinclair? Cane trusts her, and she will easily be able to reboot trust with Billy because of their once-upon-a-time close friendship. Cane said, if anyone can run this AI program without ending up in jail, it’s Billy Abbott.
Regardless, Cane Ashby wants to rebuild things with his adult children with Lily Winters and that his is #1 priority. Too bad he just doesn’t go FREAKING see them in person, but that’s another story for another day. For now Young and the Restless fans can couch it up with some popcorn to watch yet another demise of Billy Abbott, this time featuring Amanda Sinclair.
