TL;DR: Y&R fans are asking the real questions: How are Billy Abbott, Sally Spectra, Audra Charles, Daniel Romalotti, and Phyllis Summers affording their lifestyles when NONE of them have jobs? The Genoa City Athletic Club has become the unofficial office of GC’s unemployed elite, and we need answers about who’s paying for what!

Seriously, how can all of these Genoa City residents go SO long without jobs on Young and the Restless? Just one of the most prominent of Genoa City’s unemployed, Billy Boy, has a GC prominent last name, Abbott. While he has to ask his brother, Smilin’ Jack Abbott, for business loans, he has to have plenty of Abbott dough to live according to his lifestyle, but what about these other Genoa City residents who run in his circle, whose last names mean squat in town?

Owned By Cane Ashby & Might as Well Be Operated by Phyllis Summers
During Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) real estate spree via his associate, Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), when so many Genoa City residents were stuck in the South of France, he acquired the Genoa City Athletic Club, among many other properties in GC.
Cane Ashby isn’t living at the GCAC, but his supposed associate, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), is. Cane has his train, and Phyllis has the keys. Phyllis also has keys to the Athletic Club as she lives there, but why doesn’t she have all of the GCAC keys? With her experience running her former hotel, the Grand Phoenix, she would knock out running the GCAC. It’s about time the GCAC had some spice, and there is no one spicier to run a hotel than Phyllis Summers.
Besides, Phyllis is getting nowhere fast professionally. She’s been alongside Cane and has just made a deal with Genoa City’s devil, The Mustache, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). For the love of everything in soap opera land, can Phyllis have a job with purpose again? Otherwise, she’s stuck in Genoa City’s Office of the Unemployed, the Genoa City Athletic Club, now owned by Cane Ashby on Y&R.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has finally asked what Young and the Restless fans have been asking themselves: Is that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) talking again about another freaking Abbott Communications launch party? Seriously, this company still has not been launched… What in the what??!! This launch faux pas dates back to pre-Sally and Phyllis being at Billy Boy’s professional side.
It’s about time that Billy Boy and Miss Sally figure something out, with or without Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). Yes, Miss Audra Charles, another member of the Genoa City Athletic Club of the Unemployed, needs to figure out something either way.
Sure, Billy Boy with the last name Abbott can afford things, and he does have an apartment. However, Sally and Audra still have their suites at the GCAC. How?? Sally has sort of moved in with Billy a couple of times, but as long as she can afford it, she should definitely keep her own turf at the GCAC. Billy Boy’s road is rocky, and she will sooner or later need a soft place to land.
Yet, out of these three often bellied up at the GCAC together or not, Audra Charles wins. She’s been unemployed the longest. Sally has been such a good friend to Audra, but Billy Boy has that all pending to be flushed down the drain.
GC’s Equal Opportunity Unemployed, Daniel Romalotti
Despite not being employed since well before his latest lover, Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom), was killed by Ian Ward (Ray Wise), Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) is still bouncing around Genoa City on Y&R like he has a full-time gig paying him well. Well, bouncing around all of Genoa City’s finest dining establishments with a side of guitar lessons in Chancellor Park provided by his new BFF, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks).
The only person who has been searching for work for Daniel has been Daniel’s mother, Phyllis Summers. No, he doesn’t want to work with her, and that would be fine if he tried to work with anyone else at all.
How is Daniel Romalotti paying for stuff? How is he raising his daughter? Why haven’t Young and the Restless fans seen his apartment since Heather was killed? Is Daniel homeless? He does not have a suite at the GCAC like his mother and his dad, rockstar Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian).
Is Daniel living off of a life insurance policy that no one knew Heather Stevens had?
Seriously, all unemployed yet funded for what and by whom on Young and the Restless?
Regardless, Phyllis Summers is running the unemployment show at the GCAC on Y&R.
