Tracker Spoilers: Showrunner Hints At Dark Twists In 2-Part Premiere – Is Jensen Ackles’ Russell Facing Injury In Episode 2?Tracker spoilers and updates reveal there will be some dark twists in the two-part premiere coming up soon. Tracker is launching its third season with a two-part episode, beginning with the premiere on October 19-showrunner Elwood Reid assures that this narrative requires both episodes to be fully told.

Reid Talks About The Two-Part Premiere

Reid noted, “I take great pride in our two-part episode-from a production perspective, those are always challenging to execute.

Additionally, from a narrative angle, I often watch two-parters and think, ‘This could easily be condensed into one episode; they’re just dragging it out.’ I admit I can be quite impatient,” he tells TV Insider-however, that’s not the case here.

“I believe that Tracker shines brightest when we have a case that reveals something about Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley), giving insight into his past and creating an emotional bond.

Furthermore, it contributes to the larger story arc we’ve been aiming for. therefore, we’ve been extremely cautious in crafting these cases, especially the ones that kick off the season.

Reid Continues, Talking About The UFO Episode

If you recall, last year featured the second episode, which focused on UFOs-it was quite deliberate for that case to intertwine with the Shaw family storyline,” Reid explains. “We always aim to keep that in perspective-this is a frequent topic of discussion between Justin and me; we prefer not to see it as just a case of the week. I believe the show has managed to move beyond that label; the initial two episodes of the new season explore a mysterious concept referred to as ‘The Process.’

Colter (Justin Hartley) and his brother Russell Shaw (guest star Jensen Ackles) become involved in a series of events linked to this ominous underground operation. They collaborate to find the missing wife and daughter of one of Reenie Greene’s (Fiona Rene) clients in the premiere episode.

Episode Two-Leverage

Episode 2, titled “Leverage,” which airs on October 23, CBS hints several exciting developments.

After disrupting the operation, “Colter and Russell must hurry to uncover the source of these chained events and put an end to it once and for all.”

Meanwhile, Reenie presents them with a case involving a man in a custody battle who is unable to contact his ex-wife and daughter.

“It takes a very, very, very dark turn from there; not what you’d anticipate,” Reid shares. “One aspect we’ve been exploring in Colter’s world and his family is that his father was a university professor, and something led him to step away from that life.

More To Colter’s Father Than Meets The Eye

In the season finale of the first season, we discovered through Jennifer Morrison’s character, Lizzy Hawking, that the father had more depth than initially apparent. “This ‘Process’ concept exists in a similar realm,” he elaborates; “It’s about these experiments—potentially mental, physical, and psychological—that yield some very negative outcomes.

Some of this might also connect to the broader mysteries surrounding Colter’s family—not the specific issue presented in the season opener, but it does expand that universe.” He further states, “I believe some answers regarding his family’s past are found within that context, and it has been enjoyable to explore this in the writers’ room.

What About Those Weird Conspiracy Theories?

What are some strange conspiracy theories-what unusual government sociological experiments might be happening now or in the past?

In the second season, during the UFO episode, one UFO agent had extensive knowledge about his father-why is that, I’m not sure. We’re uncovering some mysteries that we aim to weave into a broader narrative.

CBS has been fantastic in supporting this more serialized approach, as I have a background in serialized storytelling, making it a lot of fun to create.

The second episode will also shed light on Russell’s activities when he’s not on screen (which is nearly all the time, with only two appearances from Ackles so far this season).
