The Young and the Restless spoilers and updates indicate that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has always been quite different from his “father” Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Could there be a storyline where Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) had a one-night stand many years ago?
Nick Was Born From A One-Night Stand, But Was It Really With Victor?
Nick was born from that one-night stand, but soap operas often change their history, so this remains a possibility. This is especially true since Victor and Nick are complete opposites; Nick is a good person, while Victor is a true villain.
Additionally, all of Victor’s other children seem to inherit some traits from him, with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) being the female counterpart of “The Moustache”.
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) shared the same “grit” as his “Pops”. Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) may lean towards her Abbott side, but she also possesses a strategic and business-oriented mindset, whereas Nick tends to act on impulse.
Nick Is Impulsive, Whereas Victor Is Calculated
One cannot ignore Nick’s impulsive nature and irrational actions, which raise questions about his paternity.
A clear instance of this occurred on the episode aired on Wednesday, November 5, when Nick went to The Shadow Room. He was eager to confront “Mitch Bacall” (Roger Howarth), whom Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) thinks is Matt Clark (last portrayed by Rick Hearst).
He observed them from a distance while “Mitch”, Detective Burrow (Matt Cohen), and Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) were talking.
Instead of taking a more strategic approach, like returning to the hospital to discuss next steps with Sharon, Nick foolishly decided to confront Mitch/Matt by unexpectedly punching him.
Nick Believes Mitch Is Matt
He clearly thinks Mitch is Matt, which is why he attacked him, a decision that was unwise on many fronts.
Not only did Nick eliminate the element of surprise by making an aggressive move against Mitch/Matt, but he also put himself at risk of arrest by the Los Angeles police for assault. How would that benefit Sharon or Noah Newman (Lucas Adams)?
Moreover, the punch will only provoke Mitch/Matt, regardless of his true identity. Nick’s approach was vastly different from how his father would have dealt with the situation, leaving room for this paternity plotline (if the show decides to explore it).
Ironically, Hothead Nick Is Also A Goody-Two-Shoes!
Ironically, hothead Nick has always been a goody two-shoes. However, he also tends to make impulsive choices, often following his heart instead of his mind.
For instance, he funded Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) business after their breakup without asking for the money back when it failed.
He also legally adopted his brother’s child even though Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) wanted to take care of Christian Newman (Alex Wilson). There are numerous instances that show Nick is a pushover, making foolish decisions that leave Victor shaking his head.
Nick Has A Bad Temper
Additionally, he has a bad temper-although he usually has good intentions, his approach to life and business has driven his father to frustration.
Yet, hitting Mitch/Matt is the most outrageous act; could this lead to a new storyline? Might it raise questions about whether Nick is truly Victor’s son?
Did Nikki have a brief affair with someone unknown that could come to light in the near future?
The Young and the Restless spoilers remind viewers that anything can happen in daytime drama, making it entirely possible for Nick to be the son of another man!
