Think about it: Bill is a successful businessman. He knows how to structure property ownership for tax purposes and asset protection. So why would he randomly put a expensive second home entirely in his wife’s name unless there’s a strategic reason? Is he protecting her from something? Is he preparing for their marriage to implode? Hayley is married to Bill Hamilton, one of the most powerful men in Fairmont Crest. Admitting to an affair would destroy both their marriages and reputations.
So what could possibly be worse? Here are some theories that would explain why Hayley protested so aggressively when Joey brought it up:
They could be involved in some kind of financial scheme or embezzlement. Maybe they’re skimming money from Bill’s businesses or the club? That would explain why Bill is suddenly putting expensive properties in Hayley’s name—either he knows and is protecting her, or he suspects something and is trying to secure assets before it all blows up.
Maybe Hayley and Randy witnessed something terrible or illegal, and they’re covering for someone powerful. If they came forward with what they know, it could put them both in danger. So they let people think they’re having an affair to explain why they’re meeting in secret and acting suspicious.

If Bill believes Hayley is cheating on him with Randy, why is he buying her houses and putting them in her name? That’s not typical behavior for a betrayed husband! Most men would be consulting divorce attorneys and protecting THEIR assets, not gifting their cheating wife expensive real estate!
