Things can only go up from here, hopefully. There’s a new report that suggests support for the British monarchy has hit an all new low. And for someone like King Charles, that has to be worrying. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Support For The British Monarchy Hits A Record Low
A new report from the national center for research says that only half of those polled believe that the British monarchy is either “very important” or “quite important” to the UK.
In comparison, back in 1983, over 86 percent of those polled said that the British monarchy was still very important at that time. Not only that, but there also seems to be a lot of calls about wanting to abolish the monarchy altogether. Now, whether or not that actually happens, remains to be seen.
Clearly, the internet had a lot to say about the matter.
Some royal fans and critics alike even commented with, “I keep repeating myself, but Meghan and Harry would have been a great asset for the Palace in regards to gaining support from the younger generation.”
“They should have rolled out the red carpet for a young American actress who enjoys working, philanthropy, children and has influencer- esque interests (cooking, gardening, bee keeping).”
And then there was this comment as well: “And to bring it full circle they now want to pull back from royal duties for their health and family lol. Sauce for the goose was definitely not sauce for the gander. Somehow one’s health is a reason to not work if it’s kate whereas Meghan does not get that pass.”
What’s Next For The British Monarchy?
And then there was this comment as well, “If you have an appliance in your home that no longer works. How important is it to you? Important enough to keep it? Or, do you deem it useless and arrange to replace it with something else? Possibly something a little different that functions better?”
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space for more.
