Soap Veteran Patricia Crowley, Who Appeared on Dynasty & Port Charles, Passed Away at 91

Soap fans are saddened to hear about another talented veteran in the industry who has died. At the age of 91, Patricia Crowley passed away two days before her 92nd birthday, on September 14. Crowley enjoyed a career in soaps that spanned over six decades, with some well-known roles on daytime and primetime shows.

Patricia Crowley Legacy

Born in 1933 in Olyphant, PA, Crowley moved to New York City to pursue her dream of acting. She scored a Golden Globe in the New Star of the Year category at the age of 20 for her work in the movies Money from Home and Forever Female.

Crowley entered the land of primetime soaps in 1984, when she appeared in two Falcon Crest episodes as Dr. Lillian Heller.

Two years later, in 1986, the actress enjoyed a 10-episode stint on Dynasty, as Emily Fallmont, who was married to Senator Buck Fallmont (Richard Anderson). The character also had an affair with Ben Carrington (Christopher Cazenove).

Meanwhile, in 1989, when Generations debuted on NBC, the actress stepped into the role of Rebecca Whitmore, a wealthy matriarch. She left the series in 1990.

Crowley also had appearances on both Melrose Place, for one show in 1996, and Beverly Hills 90210 in 1997-1998 for three episodes playing Audrey Cutler. When General Hospital’s spinoff, Port Charles, debuted in 1997, Crowley played

Mary Scanlon, a retired nurse who was romantically linked to Kevin Collins and Ryan Chamberlain’s (Jon Lindstrom) dad, Victor Collins (Nicholas Pryor). Crowley also appeared on GH in the same role.

The actress remained with the soap until it wrapped up in 2003. Her final role in daytime was playing Natalie DeWitt on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2005.

Remembering Patricia Crowley

As per a Deadline report, Jon Hookstratten, Crowley’s son and EVP at Sony Pictures, revealed his mom passed away of natural causes. The actress is survived by her husband, Andy Friendly, daughter Ann, son Jon, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
