Royal Family Secret Tunnel Exposed — Palace Says It’s ‘LividWe’re so past the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama, and please no more on the Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson ones. This week, we’ve uncovered that a new crisis plagues the Royal Family, and it happily doesn’t have anything to do with either of the notorious couples.

In fact, it involves the discovery of a centuries old tunnel. Ears perked up yet?

The Royal Family’s Secret Tunnel “Was Never Meant For Public Knowledge”

The royal news cycle this week has been a very busy one: Prince William and King Charles’ joint engagement; Princess Catherine’s letter to parents on the dangers of condoning the invasive use of technology; Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in NYC, and so on and so forth.

But of course, our attention was sort of arrested when we learned that “a discreet private tunnel that leads directly to the doors of St. James’s Palace” exists.

This tunnel is said to connect to the luxury hotel, The Stafford London. It is even said that the late Queen Elizabeth used this very tunnel to pop in for a “quiet lunch” at the iconic London hotel.

However, shortly after Page Six hit publish on this interesting little piece of news, Rob Shuter revealed that “Buckingham Palace is in meltdown.” Senior courtiers were apparently not happy that the existence of the tunnel has been made common knowledge.

“They consider the tunnel’s existence classified — it was never meant for public knowledge,” Shuter wrote on ShutterScoop.

Maybe this reaction is a bit over the top considering that it’s been turned into a wine cellar as of late. Yup, you won’t find a member of the Royal Family crawling all over the place these days – that is, if it’s a crawling tunnel. I really can’t picture Queen Elizabeth using it if it’s that type.

“It’s the one place you can sip Bordeaux and still feel the crown above you,” the source reportedly revealed. Kind of seems like they’re promoting the place at this point, doesn’t it?

Anyway, the tunnel’s existence may have been mentioned a few years back by Princess Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, who revealed that he was eager to check it out.

“I haven’t used it yet, but I’d love to check it out,” he told royal expert Richard Eden in 2021.
