Rumors started that the former Duke of York, Prince Andrew, AKA Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, might opt for a self-imposed exile. And, that could include living in an Arabian palace. Read on for more details.

Moving Into An Arabian Palace?

Might the King’s brother soon vanish from public view? If so, why move to an Arabian palace? Well, for starters it could be because of enhanced “Fort Knox style security.” The news raises speculation soon after his reported ousting from the Royal Lodge in the UK.

Speaking on Sky News Australia on Wednesday, anchor Gabriella kickstarted the revelation by saying, “There are…suggestions that Andrew Windsor will be fleeing the UK.” Allegedly, “He’ll move abroad and vanish from public view possibly in an Arabian palace according to some royal experts.”

Barrister and broadcaster Andrew Eborn, who also appeared on the program, expanded on the theory. He noted that the press in locations like Abu Dhabi “doesn’t enjoy the same sort of freedoms as we have here.” Of course, that would offer the former Duke a break from so much scrutiny.

Eborn mentioned Andrew’s long-standing friendship with powerful figures in the region. In fact, in the past, there were invitations to high-profile events like the “Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.” Not to mention the receipt of lavish gifts.

Foreign Lands – More Privacy

Initial speculation suggested that Prince Andrew might relocate to the Sandringham estate after Christmas. However, Eborn didn’t rule out a permanent foreign departure.

After all, life abroad would be “much more confidential.” Especially, given that the rumored destination is very private and seems to be a heavily fortified compound.

Important  Oversight

On another interesting note, despite title removals and being dropped from royal duties, one important official status remains unchanged. Gabriella raised the subject, saying, “It appears that there are no plans to remove Andrew from the line of succession.” He remains eighth in line to the throne, and displacing him would require a complex “act of Parliament.”

Eborn talked about how it did seem to be a huge oversight on the official royal website. “I can guarantee the palace having watched this program, they watch and listen to every single word that you and I utter,” he said. “They’ll be going having a look at that side because in the line of succession, it still says in eighth position the Duke of York. Now there’s a big mistake there.”

For now, Prince Andrew might choose to go to Sandringham. Or, if rumor has it right, depart for his Arabian palace far away. However, it seems that right now, he remains a potential, though unlikely, king.

Royal Family Fans React

The comments section soon filled up with folks wanting to discuss the rumored move and the succession. One person opined, “I can see him packing everything up and leaving in the dead of night to live in the UAE in the lap of luxury, thumbing his nose at HMTK.”
