Once again, when it comes to notoriety, Meghan Markle finds herself at the top of the list, surpassing public figures like the very controversial and divisive Kanye West and sexual offender P Diddy.
According to Ranker, the Duchess of Sussex is leading the list of most disliked celebrities. “Each of these figures managed to distinguish themselves through their actions, steering the public opinion against them,” the statement on their website read.

When we talk about a hated public figure, who comes to mind? Elon Musk, US President Donald Trump, Bill Cosby, Amber Heard, or British entertainer James Corden?
Would you even inagine that Meghan Markle could be on the list, let alone top it, in a world where these other people exist?
As crazy as it sounds, she did top the list, and she’s been doing so for years now, so I’m sure it comes as no surprise to her now.
But what about Meghan Markle made thousands of voters choose her above the likes of Jada Pinkett Smith and Chrissy Teigen?
Perhaps it’s because their crimes are one of past years, and well, Meghan has been rankling royal fans left and right this year.
So when it comes to 2025’s most hated celebrity, fans are probably remembering the DS tote bag, the rumors she embroidered her titles on common household items, and her weird birth gift to husband Prince Harry using his titles.
Described as an “American-born member of the British royal family, a philanthropist, and a former actress,” Meghan’s number one position was approved by 78% of the site’s voters.
In 2024, Meghan’s universally disliked status was more or less cemented when The Hollywood Reporter named her as one of the year’s most disliked celebrities.

Despite Harry’s reconciliation moves, he did not fall so far behind, coming in at the fourth position, behind Sean “P Diddy” Combs and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Even though he spent part of this year engineering a peace deal with his family, his admittance that he upholds everything he disclosed in ‘Spare’ really did tick some fans off.
In addition to this, his obsessive push for 24/7 taxpayer funded police protection is also not endearing him to the public.
