Luna Nozawa’s Rape-to-Riches Scheme: When B&B Writers Confused ‘Controversial’ with ‘Unwatchable

By Daniel Taylor 09/30/2025

WHY B&B FANS ARE DONE WITH LUNA NOZAWA’S CHARACTER

TL;DR: Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) orchestrated one of the most disturbing storylines in B&B history by drugging and raping Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) while disguised as his girlfriend. Now she’s pregnant and somehow thinks she’s winning. Fans are REVOLTING, and we’re breaking down exactly why this storyline is offensive, poorly written, and completely unwatchable.

Luna’s Masterclass in Villainy (And Terrible Writing)

Let’s recap this nightmare: Luna decided the best way to win Will’s heart was to get him blackout drunk at Il Giardino, disguise herself in Electra Forrester’s (Laneya Grace) Venetian mask, and sexually assault him while he was too intoxicated to consent or even recognize her. Will thought he was with his girlfriend. He wasn’t. That’s rape, full stop.

But wait, it gets WORSE. Luna then bragged about it to her grandmother Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), calling it “the best night of her life.” And Sheila—supposedly reformed Sheila, who took a bullet for Steffy Forrester—LAUGHED and celebrated her granddaughter’s sexual assault of Will.

Co-head writer Michael Minnis told press “What Luna did was pretty awful. We are not condoning it in the least,” but here’s the thing: SHOWING Sheila cackling with glee about it IS condoning it. You can’t have your cake and eat it too, Brad Bell.

The Audacity Is Almost Impressive

Now Luna’s pregnancy tests are coming back positive, and she’s genuinely shocked that people aren’t thrilled about her “love child.” The girl got punched in the face by Electra—a genuinely satisfying moment in B&B history—and her response was to rub her belly like some deranged fertility goddess auditioning for a villain role.

Luna looked Electra dead in the eye, bragged about her “love child” with Will, and then acted SHOCKED when Electra delivered the most satisfying punch in the show’s 38-year history. The audacity. Honestly, Luna’s delusion deserves some kind of award, preferably one she can reflect on during her upcoming prison sentence.

This Storyline Is Recycled Garbage

Here’s what makes this even more infuriating: B&B has done this before. Remember when Brooke Logan accidentally slept with Oliver Jones at a party because she thought he was Ridge Forrester? Or when Thomas Forrester drugged Caroline Spencer? The show keeps returning to these blurred-consent storylines like a dog returning to its own vomit, and fans are SICK of it.

Social media exploded with outrage. One fan wrote, “Do better, Bold & Beautiful. I don’t wanna keep seeing drunk or drugged out young folks getting sexually assaulted!” Another pointed out, “It’s 2025, and Bold & Beautiful is still mishandling rape storylines.” The criticism is valid—this isn’t edgy storytelling, it’s lazy, offensive, and tone-deaf.

The worst part? The show had opportunities to avoid this disaster. Luna could have been foiled. Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) could have put Will in an Uber. Sheila could have stopped her. Instead, the writers chose the most disturbing path possible and are now asking viewers to watch Luna potentially baby-trap the Spencer family.

The Collateral Damage

This storyline isn’t just destroying Luna as a character—it’s torching everyone around her. Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) character has been “wrecked,” according to fans. Dr. Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) went from respected doctor to accomplice in hiding a “dead” criminal. Sheila’s redemption arc? Gone. Will and Electra’s relationship? Probably doomed. All sacrificed on the altar of keeping Luna on the canvas.

According to fall spoilers, this mess will “unite the Spencer family” and maybe reunite Bill and Katie Logan (Heather Tom). Great! It only took a rape storyline to bring them together. How romantic.

The Bottom Line For B&B…And Luna

Luna Nozawa has officially entered irredeemable villain territory, and unlike classic B&B villains like Sheila or Quinn Forrester who at least owned their chaos, Luna keeps playing victim while literally rubbing her belly and plotting her next manipulation.

Fans aren’t here for it. The ratings aren’t here for it. And frankly, the actors deserve better material than this dumpster fire.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Tune in to watch this disaster unfold—or don’t, because your mental health matters more than Luna’s delusions.

What do you think? Should Luna face actual consequences, or will the writers find another way to keep this trainwreck on our screens? Sound off in the comments.
