Lady Gaga plays Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary Nevermore teacher whom the titular character goes to in season 2, episode 6. Grandmama advises Wednesday to seek her out to help her restore her Raven powers. Rotwood lived in the Addams Family cottage years ago, so Wednesday visits her grave to speak with her.

Rotwood warns Wednesday not to break the Raven's Gaze, forcing her to hold her palm above a burning candle. Coincidentally, Enid arrives at the graveyard and breaks the vision, forcing them into a body swap scenario as a consequence. Rotwood challenges them to unravel each other's secrets, forcing them to understand each other better.

Lady Gaga also wrote and sang a new song for Wednesday season 2, titled "The Dead Dance." There's a related music video for the song that was directed by legendary filmmaker Tim Burton, who also works as a director and creator on Wednesday.

TikTok trends have a way of bringing back older songs, and Lady Gaga's "Bloody Mary" went viral during Wednesday season 1 when paired with the iconic dance scene.

Lady Gaga has been tied to the show since the beginning, and she even tried to get Jenna Ortega to dance along to her "Bloody Mary" performance at Tudum 2026. Netflix is leaning into the cultural appeal for Wednesday that was generated by fan discussion and creation during the show's first season.

Given the popularity of this song and the dance from season 1, it's not surprising that Wednesday season 2, part 2, followed up on the moment. The body swap plotline with Enid and Wednesday allows for the titular character to get her dance moves going in a fun new way that's sure to spark some internet traction.
