Tension is reportedly fraught between King Charles and his heir Prince William. It’s like a second royal drama is brewing right before our very eyes, and, mind you, the OG royal rift is yet to be completely healed.
According to insiders, King Charles did not take Prince William’s candid chat on the AppleTV+ series The Reluctant Traveler in good taste. In fact, the monarch felt disdain towards some of William’s stronger views on the Monarchy.

For the first time ever, we were treated to the beating heart of Prince William as he peeled back some of his layers in a way we’ve never seen him do for the media before.
It was truly an amazing interview to watch, and it sent Levy’s The Reluctant Traveler surging up the charts around the world.
In the interview, William addressed his oldest son Prince George’s impending fate as a monarch for the first time.
Apart from wanting to change some of the Monarchy’s stuffy traditions, William warned that it would be very harmful to revert back to some of the dangerous practices that plagued his young days.
“I hope we don’t go back to some of the practices in the past that Harry and I had to grow up in – and I’ll do everything I can to make sure we don’t regress in that situation,” he told Levy.
He added: “I think it’s safe to say that change is on my agenda. Change for good. And I embrace that and I enjoy that change—I don’t fear it. That’s the bit that excites me, is the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think that need to happen.”
It didn’t take long after the interview aired when Palace sources allegedly came running to react.
According to Rob Shuter on ShuterScoop, Prince William’s relationship with his father has collapsed into silence. Calls, texts, and meetings have reportedly come to a screeching halt.
Charles is said to be more touched about the way William seemingly painted aspects of his childhood in a negative light.
“The King sees it as betrayal, not honesty,” while another notes “It’s not just family tension—it’s about the Crown itself.”
PR peace talks are said to be ongoing as we speak.
