VICTOR NEWMAN SECRETLY PLOTS TO DESTROY JACK WHILE PRETENDING TO BE ALLIES
TL;DR: Jack Abbott is caught in a dangerous game with Victor Newman as they team up to take down Cane Ashby’s AI threat against Jabot and Chancellor. But Victor’s not really on Jack’s side, and this corporate war is about to drag Kyle Abbott and Claire Newman directly into the crossfire of the Newman-Abbott feud.
Jack Abbott’s Risky Alliance with Victor Newman
Well, well, well. The Young and the Restless is giving us the corporate warfare we’ve been craving! Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) finds himself in an uncomfortable position: he needs to work WITH Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to protect Jabot from Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) mysterious AI threat. But here’s the kicker—Victor isn’t actually planning to help Jack at all. He’s just letting Jack THINK they’re allies while plotting his own takeover!
The spoilers reveal that Jack and Victor have decided to “divide and conquer” by separately approaching Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) to convince her that Cane’s plan is dangerous for both Jabot and Chancellor. Jack believes that Jill, who paid a high price to protect Chancellor and who loved his father John Abbott, wouldn’t allow Cane to sink either company. But is Jack being naive about Jill’s loyalties?
Diane’s Concerns About Victor’s True Motives
Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) is NOT comfortable with this alliance, and honestly, can you blame her? She warns Jack that he’s putting himself and Jabot at risk with no backup plan. Diane questions whether Jack can really trust Victor to commit to being on board, and her concerns are totally justified!
Jack argues that both he and Victor would separately impress upon Jill how dangerous Cane’s plan is, but he’s NOT counting on Victor to save him because he has his family for that. Meanwhile, Diane senses that Victor’s unwillingness to fully commit makes Jack vulnerable. She’s absolutely RIGHT to be worried because Jack is about to get blindsided!
Victor’s Real Plan: Let Jack Think They’re Allies
Here’s where things get REALLY interesting. Victor tells Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that he only wants Jack to THINK they’ll be working together. Victor has no intention of actually partnering with Jack. He’s just using this moment to his advantage while plotting his own attack on Jabot!
Victor shares his plan to blast the widow scandal involving Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) and Cane’s involvement, while also preparing for Cane to potentially unleash his AI software. Victor tells Nick to make sure Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is ready with his part and instructs the IT team to watch for any abnormalities. Victor is playing chess while Jack is playing checkers!
How This Corporate War Impacts Kyle and Claire
Now here’s where our Romeo and Juliet story comes in. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) are already dealing with Victor’s disapproval of their relationship, have freshly broken up but miss each other every second, and this corporate warfare is about to make things SO much worse for them. The writers have been setting up Kyle and Claire as the new star-crossed lovers caught between feuding families, and now Jack’s defense of Jabot against Victor’s schemes is going to put even MORE pressure on their relationship!
Jack is concerned that Kyle screwed things up all by himself with his questionable choices (looking at you, Audra Charles and that France situation!), but he’s about to realize that the bigger threat to Kyle and Claire’s relationship isn’t Kyle’s past mistakes. It’s the Newman-Abbott corporate war that’s escalating!
Victor’s Using Kyle and Claire as Leverage
Victor has made it crystal clear he doesn’t approve of his granddaughter dating an Abbott, and now that Jack’s actively working (or thinking he’s working) against Victor on the Jabot situation, Victor’s going to use Kyle and Claire’s rocky relationship as leverage. The spoilers from earlier this year revealed that Victor even blocked Kyle and Claire from buying Adam’s apartment, warning Kyle to abandon the notion of living with Claire or face consequences!
Victor told Kyle point-blank: “You have no idea what I’m capable of!” And when Kyle wondered what would happen if he didn’t go along with Victor’s demands, Victor warned that Kyle doesn’t want to find out. Since Victor doesn’t make idle threats, Kyle’s rightfully worried about how Victor could ramp up his efforts to tear them apart and even threaten to disown Claire from the Newman family.
Jack’s Walking Into Victor’s Trap
The really frustrating part is that Jack doesn’t realize he’s walking straight into Victor’s trap! Jack believes that Jill will side with him because of their family connection and the Abbott name on Chancellor. He can’t fathom that Jill would allow Cane to sink either Jabot or Chancellor. But what Jack doesn’t know is that Victor’s already three steps ahead, planning to use this corporate chaos to his advantage!
Victor wants to go after Jack where it hurts: his company Jabot – and unfortunately, Kyle and Claire are going to be caught right in the middle of this Newman vs. Abbott battle. The writers have promised us a big Romeo and Juliet-style story, and we all know how THAT ended for the original star-crossed lovers!
Kyle’s Caught Between Family and Love
Poor Kyle is literally caught between his family’s company drama and his love life imploding. He’s watching Jabot become a battlefield in Victor’s latest vendetta, and now he’s got to worry about whether Claire can handle the Newman-Abbott pressure cooker. Kyle has concerns about Victor changing Claire’s mind about their relationship, and he acknowledges that he knows what Victor’s capable of doing.
After Victor leaves one of their confrontations, Kyle complains to Jack about the impossible situation. But Jack’s so focused on protecting Jabot and dealing with Victor that he might not fully realize how his corporate warfare is directly impacting his son’s happiness. The question is: will Jack choose Jabot over Kyle’s relationship, or will he find a way to protect both?
Billy Joins the Fight Against Cane
Adding another layer to this corporate drama, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) has also joined forces with Victor to take down Cane after being pushed out by Cane and Abbott Communications. Billy’s obsession with stopping Cane has led him to make an alliance with Victor, which worsens the Newman-Abbott business rivalry even more. With both Jack and Billy entangled in Victor’s web, the Abbott family is in serious danger!
The Fallout: Will Kyle and Claire Survive?
The writers have been hyping Kyle and Claire as this generation’s great love story on Y&R, but with Jack defending Jabot against Victor, Victor scheming to destroy the Abbotts, and Summer Newman lurking in the background waiting to swoop in—these two don’t stand a chance unless they can somehow unite against ALL the chaos coming their way!
Will Jack realize he’s being played by Victor before it’s too late? Will Kyle and Claire’s love be strong enough to survive the Newman-Abbott corporate war? And will Victor succeed in using their relationship as a weapon against Jack and Jabot? One thing’s for sure: Genoa City is about to get MESSY, and the Abbott family better watch their backs because Victor Newman is playing for keeps!
