General Hospital spoilers leak Martin ‘Marty’ Grey (Michael E. Knight) has really done himself in this time.
His coup against the Quartermaine family didn’t turn out at all like he thought it would. Figuring he had this in the bag months ago, Marty skillfully doctored Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) will to look like she left the Quartermaine estate to her long-lost sister, Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Bard (Erika Slezak).
He almost got away with it, but alas, Ronnie came clean and the truth forcefully set Marty free. But will he stay that way? Sulking away from the mansion with his tail between his legs, he went straight to his little sister’s office.
Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) was dismayed to learn what he had done, and surprised that Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) was willing to forego pressing charges as long as Marty told Laura the truth. Now, his entire life is upended, and we have to wonder what comes next for him.
Tracy Has Yet to Say Her Piece
Sure, Ned might have aimed to let Marty off the hook and escort him out of the house with a good laugh. He knew what he was sending Laura’s way. He may want the Mayor — who beat him out of the seat years back — to know he’s got his eye on her.
Call it a twist of the knife. Either way, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is likely to have the final say in this and she hasn’t had time to confront Marty face to face since it all went down in the Quartermaine living room.
When she bumps into Marty again, we don’t doubt that she’ll be ready to give him hell. But will she want to make sure the public — and the bar — know what this shady attorney has done?
GH Spoilers Spill This May Be the Long Way Down
Marty stands to lose everything he has built up until this point in his life. Trading his career for a slice of revenge — and mostly against Tracy — was a pretty bold move.
Much of the fan base is quite perplexed as to why GH writers thought it made any sense for Marty to be this angry with Tracy that he would make any moves to spite her that were to his own detriment.
That letter landed in his hands at just the right time we suppose, but some fans think it makes so little sense that they wonder if we’ve still yet to hear the full story.
A Redemption Arc?
There’s still hope for Marty, regardless of how he let his ego get in the way with this war with Tracy that just won’t end. Honestly, these two have had it out for each other in ways that seem out of alignment with how little they’ve actually done to one another — until now anyway.
Tracy isn’t going to forget this, and we won’t be surprised if she seeks revenge. At the same time, some fans are thinking Marty might lick his wounds someplace new — or even someplace familiar, like with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).
Could this rock bottom have Marty looking at Lucy with forgiveness in his eyes, especially as he realizes he needs a new place to live?
