General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that an update by Erika Slezak’s official fan club explains that she’s on her way out. Her character debuted on Friday, September 26, but she signed up only for a short gig which means we have to savor every minute of onscreen time while it lasts.
Erika’s fan club president, Walter Miller, issued the message on Friday and included a statement from the actress. Slezak spoke about the three weeks of taping she did at Prospect Studios in Hollywood.
At the end of the Friday cliffhanger, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) encountered a stranger at the Quartermaine mausoleum and asked “Who are you, and why the hell are you trespassing?”
According to the credits, Slezak’s character is named Veronica Bard which was Monica Quartermaine’s (the late Leslie Charleson) maiden name.
Erika Slezak Returns to Daytime
Slezak said: “The past three weeks have been an incredible yet exhausting journey. I worked every day with amazing, friendly, and lovely people—not just the actors, but everyone involved, from the hair and make-up team, including Angela, Wendy, and Karol, to the crew and the fabulous Bruce Cooperman, who I have known for over 30 years since his days as a cameraman on ‘OLTL,’ and the security guard, Emma. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. I couldn’t have done it without them.”
Erika Slezak’s Heartfelt Message to Fans
Slezak’s return obviously meant a lot to her and she added “Reconnecting with Chris McKenna (my Joey) (Jack Brennan) and his lovely family was wonderful.
Seeing Marianne, Chris’s mom, was a special moment, and it was a delightful surprise to see Jessica Tuck (Cassandra Pierce, Megan Gordon, One Life to Live).”
She also talked about “Spending time with Tuc Watkins (David Vickers, One Life to Live) and his children, as well as with Roger Howarth (Austin Gatlin-Holt, Franco Baldwin, Todd Manning, One Life to Live and General Hospital) provided a wonderful break.”
Slezak noted that the filming was “a challenge, but Frank Valentini, ‘the boss,’ has been very helpful and patient. He’s a dear old friend and a highly skilled executive producer. Many others I knew from ‘OLTL’ have helped make the transition to ‘GH’ less stressful.”
Erika Slezak Plays Veronica Bard
Slezak also gave a shout out to her first on air screen companion, Jane Elliot (Tracy Quartermaine) who she described as “wonderful, delightful, and challenging to work with as I had imagined. She’s positively brilliant!”
Slezak ended by writing that she had a terrific experience but “I am very happy to be heading home. I have missed my family, my puppies, and my pussycat so much. Working on ‘GH’ was a wonderful experience, and I hope all of you will tune in tomorrow to watch me in Port Charles!”
