General Hospital spoilers report Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) raised eyebrows this week when she stopped by Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) place for a chat.
To be frank, Carly and Elizabeth aren’t exactly bosom buddies. They get along to get along, but they’ve always had a bit of an internal distrust of one another, and even a healthy competition that traces back to when Elizabeth had some piece of Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) heart and attention — and Carly couldn’t stand it.
These days, they join forces whenever they have to, but it did seem a bit strange that Carly would want to see Elizabeth’s advice of all people. Besides, that’s where Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is staying right now, which by default makes Elizabeth her ally. Well, perhaps that was the point of Carly’s visit all along.
A Fan Theory Takes Shape
Fans are chomping at the bit on the internet insisting that Carly didn’t really need to bend Elizabeth’s ear. Instead, she was at the Head Nurse’s cozy townhome to drop something off — an antique gun courtesy of Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle), perhaps?
With Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) bound to search the place and find evidence, will it dawn on Elizabeth that Carly may have stowed it there?
Might she and Willow suspect Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) instead, given that he stopped by later in the day to talk with Willow?
Carly’s Plan Makes Michael Look Worse
It’s hard to say how Carly got her hands on whatever it was that fans suspect she planted in Elizabeth’s house.
If it was Edward’s gun, will it have her prints on it, or someone else’s? Did she find it somewhere else and decided to plant it where Willow might be fingered for the job?
Or, did Carly actually shoot Drew? What would that have solved? Sure, she can’t stand the guy, but Carly isn’t made for that level of retaliation. If she did stash the gun at Elizabeth’s, she runs the risk of making it look like Michael did! We bet she didn’t see that coming!
Carly is No Killer
Point blank: taking a life just because someone makes her skin crawl isn’t Carly’s style. She has way too much going for herself.
Besides, if she did do something like that, she would be panicking and running to the likes of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and even Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) for help figuring out how to get out of the mess she made.
Nah, Carly is much better at setups, letting karma play out, and verbal sparring, than she ever would be trying to murder someone. So, what did she stash at Elizabeth’s house, if anything? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
