General Hospital recaps for Friday, September 19 reveal someone’s brought up to speed, a couple shares their first kiss, while bad news spreads, and a major character returns.
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) is brought up to speed, while Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) share their first kiss, and the bad news of Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) death spreads.
Up To Speed
Laura visited Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) office to get an update on Judge Eva Heran’s (Tessa Auberjonois) murder. With Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) by her side, the commissioner shared that evidence suggested a link between the judge’s murder and Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting.
Laura pointed out that the judge’s body being discovered in the water near Pier 55 provided the Measure C supporters with more reasons to target Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). (Make sure to check out our weekly GH spoilers, here!)
Anna concurred that the location might have been a deliberate choice. As the discussion progressed, Anna and Dante updated Laura on the funds transferred to Heran’s account, which, in Anna’s opinion, gave Sonny and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) a motive.
Laura Collins Questioned The Transfer
Laura kept asking about the evidence of the transfer found in Drew’s account, which might only indicate that he discovered proof of the judge’s windfall, not that he was responsible for it.
Anna pointed out that anyone concerned about Wiley and Amelia Corinthos’ (Viron Weaver, Serenity and Sequoia Mork Macko) custody had a reason to shoot Drew.
She also mentioned that Acting District Attorney Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) had talked to Drew, but she wanted to ask him her own questions.
Laura requested to be kept informed, as the involvement of the local congressman in any shady activities could impact the entire town.

Gio Palmieri Finds Outback
In the stables, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) was talking with Outback when Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) came back to say she had found the owners searching for their lost dog.
Cody didn’t seem as thrilled, but Molly reminded him that Outback wasn’t his dog. At that moment, Gio came over to inform them about Rocco Falconeri’s (Finn Carr) missing dog and gave them flyers, explaining that the dog had run away when a car backfired.
Molly gave Cody a knowing glance, and Cody returned Outback to a happy Gio. Instead of taking the $10,000 reward, Cody proposed that the money be given to an animal shelter.
Molly looked both surprised and happy, telling Cody she knew he was a good person.
First Kiss
At Bobbie’s, Emma was talking about the missing Outback with Rocco when Gio called her to meet him at the Quartermaine stables.
After Emma left, Rocco thought about whether he should have told her that Britt was alive, but Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) suggested that Emma was already dealing with a lot.
She encouraged him to discuss Britt with their mom because if Lulu was okay with having a relationship with her dad, maybe she’d be fine with Rocco having one with Britt.
However, Rocco confessed that he wasn’t sure if that was what he wanted-now that Britt was alive and in Port Charles, it felt too real. When Emma got to the stables, she was excited to see that Gio had found Outback, and they shared their first kiss.

Danny Morgan Makes A Plea
Over at the hospital, Drew was taken aback when Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) came to see him in the hospital. The teenager said he was there regarding Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante), but Drew made it clear that the restraining orders would remain in effect.
Danny noted that he hadn’t been served with his restraining order yet, so he wouldn’t be violating any laws by visiting Scout. “Look at you, finding ways to get around the law,” Drew retorted.
“You are definitely your father’s son;” Danny maintained that he didn’t intend to break any laws and was simply worried about Scout.
He wanted to assist her and didn’t want to act secretly, so he asked Drew if he could see his sister; however, Drew kept refusing to allow him near Scout.
Danny Versus Drew
“I understand you believe that by hurting me, you’re somehow getting back at my dad,” Danny yelled, “but the only one you’re truly hurting is Scout!”
Drew disagreed, so Danny pressed on, emphasizing that Scout was genuinely in distress, giving examples she reached out to him and Charlotte for a ride home to be with her family.
Drew maintained that he was acting in his daughter’s best interest. He remarked that he didn’t consider Danny to be a bad kid, instead placing the blame on Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) for the entire situation.
The Sam McCall Factor
When Danny attempted to argue that Rocco and the Quartermaines were not bad individuals, Drew reminded him that Monica had prohibited him from entering the estate.
He told Danny he was unwilling to allow his daughter to go to a place he couldn’t access-surrendering, Danny began to leave, but abruptly turned back for one final remark.
“My mom wished for nothing more than for me, Rocco, and Scout to remain together,” he said with anger. “She would despise what you’re doing, it would shatter her heart; I hope you can come to terms with that.”
Drew maintained his cold stare throughout the confrontation, but once Danny stormed out, his expression shifted to one of contemplation.

The News Of Monica Quartermaine’s Passing
At the hospital, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) updated Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) about Britt’s meeting with the co-chiefs of staff.
He was shocked that Britt thought she could just stroll in and reclaim her job; while looking at her computer, Liz suddenly paused and announced that Monica Quartermaine had just passed away.
Disturbed, Lucas expressed his condolences to Liz-she shared how Monica had supported Jake Webber’s (Hudson West) passion for art and had been her son’s first paying customer.
Lucas was amazed at the number of lives Monica had saved throughout her career and referred to it as a significant loss for G.H. and Port Charles.
“There will never be another Monica Quartermaine,” Liz stated, she then called Jake to inform him that Grandma Monica had died, and Danny arrived just in time to hear.
Bad News Spreads
Liz then visited Drew, who quickly began complaining about Danny and how Jason and Michael had turned the Quartermaines against him; she interrupted him to tell him that Monica had died.
In the meantime, Jason walked into the gatehouse, recalling Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) telling him about the time Monica connected with him as a baby in that same place. Michael entered and quickly sensed something was off.
He thought Jason had learned about the suspicion surrounding him for shooting Drew. But Jason clarified that wasn’t true and shared the sad news that Monica had died.
Jason Morgan & Michael Corinthos Talk About Monica
Michael found it hard to accept the news, recalling how Monica had wished Wiley good luck on his first day of school and feeling sad that he wasn’t there with them.
He became emotional as he remembered how he used to visit her every morning… except for this one-Jason comforted Michael, saying that Monica understood how much he cared for her.
Michael speculated if Drew’s shooting had anything to do with her decline, but Jason reassured him that they had kept that information from her.
“When I entered the room… the atmosphere felt different,” he shared, his voice trembling. “It was as if her energy and spirit had just… vanished. I checked her pulse, but deep down I already knew.
Jason & Michael Grieve
Jason goes on, saying, “I checked her breathing, but… so I just held her hand and stayed with her, for a bit-she seemed at peace.” Jason shared how much he regretted that he and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) had tried to keep the Quartermaines away from Michael’s life.
Michael reassured Jason that Monica was thrilled to have Jason and Danny at the house, and despite what had happened before, she clearly cared for him.
Michael asked if Jason wanted to come with him to join the rest of the family at the house, but Jason preferred to remain at the gatehouse for a while. He kept recalling the story Tracy had told him about Monica caring for him as a baby.
The Quartermaines Grieve
Michael departed, and Jason sat on the couch with tears in his eyes. “I miss you, Mom,” he murmured. “I love you.” Danny came to the gatehouse and sat beside his father as they comforted each other in silence.
At the main house, Brook Lynn Quartermaine Chase (Amanda Setton) and Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) were curious about why Tracy had called them; Tracy entered and managed to say, “Monica passed away.”
Both Ned and Brook Lynn were deeply affected by the news-Tracy started to cry as she shared how she visited Monica and vowed to care for everyone she loved.
“So many people I have cared for are gone,” she sobbed. “Daddy, Mother, Alan… my Luke Spencer (Tony Geary)… and now Monica-what will I do without Monica?”

The Quartermaines Pull Together In Their Grief
Brook Lynn and Ned quickly stepped forward to wrap her in a comforting hug. Ned felt emotional when he shared with his mother how deeply he loves her, as their family doesn’t often show affection and they are uncertain about how much time remains.
Brook Lynn joined in, expressing how much she values being part of this family. She offered to assist by making calls or writing the obituary.
Tracy wanted to make the final choices but mentioned she would appreciate Brook Lynn’s support.
Tracy Quartermaine Believes Michael Should Get The Mansion
Tracy also mentioned that Jason was with her and was the one who found Monica, and later, she checked on Ned. He confessed he thought Monica would bounce back from her recent health issues just like she had before; Brook Lynn agreed, unable to picture the family without her.
Michael came over and expressed his gratitude to Tracy for all she had done for his grandmother. Tracy reflected on her belief that Monica didn’t deserve the Quartermaine name, but Monica had proven her wrong.
She then stated that everything (referring to the house) should belong to Michael.

Lulu Spencer Reports An Accident
Lulu found a crashed car and called 911 while checking on the man who was unconscious in the driver’s seat, his face mostly buried in the airbag, which had deployed.
As the paramedics worked on the driver, Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) showed up and asked Lulu to explain what had occurred.
She mentioned that she didn’t witness the accident but noticed the car while driving by and stopped to assist, although she didn’t see any other individuals or vehicles.
Chase expressed his gratitude for her assistance, and she left to pick up her children, and continued assisting the paramedics. Soon, the ambulance sped off with the accident victim to the General Hospital emergency room.
A Shockingly Familiar Accident Victim
Dante and Anna arrived at the hospital to interrogate Drew as the paramedics brought in the victim from the accident, Chase expected to follow.
Lucas, the doctor on call in the ER hurried to attend to the patient but halted when he recognized his face, almost like he’d seen a ghost.
Noticing his reaction, Anna and Dante approached and were equally shocked to see a man who bore a striking resemblance to the deceased Nathan West (Ryan Paevey)!
Elizabeth would rush to the scene as well, seeing the others in near shock at the sight.
