Maurice Benard’s Retirement Plans For 2026
While Maurice has hinted in the past that he’s been thinking more and more about retirement as he would rather spend more time with his family than on a television set, he hasn’t pulled the trigger on his decision just yet.
But at the same time, a lot of GH fans have also noticed that the Sonny Corinthos that they all once knew and love is not the same Sonny that they see on the canvas these days. In other words, the spark seems to be gone.

While there’s no doubt that the actor’s presence would be missed, it’s doubtful that the producers of the show would recast his character with a new actor.
There’s only one Sonny in this world, and he belongs to Maurice. Yet, the actor has hinted that he’s wanting to not only spend more time with his family, but also work on other projects, including his YouTube series on mental health, State of Mind.
