EVA LARUE AND DAUGHTER LIVED IN NIGHTMARE FOR 12 YEARS BEFORE FBI SOLVED STALKER CASE

TL;DR: Eva LaRue is sharing her terrifying 12-year experience with a stalker in a two-part documentary titled “My Nightmare Stalker: The Eva La Rue Story” premiering on Paramount Plus November 13. LaRue and her daughter lived in fear for over a decade before the FBI finally solved the case using groundbreaking forensic genealogy technology. LaRue is now using her platform to raise awareness and advocate for stalking victims.

A Decade of Terror

Eva LaRue revealed on Instagram (see the full post here) that she and her daughter endured more than a decade living in what she describes as a nightmare. What began as anonymous letters evolved into years of escalating death threats, harassment, and constant fear that shadowed every aspect of their lives.

“For more than a decade, my daughter and I lived inside a nightmare,” LaRue wrote in her Instagram post. “What began as anonymous letters evolved into years of escalating, sickening and disturbing death threats, harassment and fear that shadowed every part of our lives. It reached a point where every sound at night felt like a warning, around every corner could be the end for us.”

The situation became so dire that LaRue and her daughter could not feel safe in their own home. Every noise at night felt like a potential threat, and they lived with the constant fear that danger could be waiting around every corner.

The Painful Irony of Playing a Detective

During this terrifying ordeal, LaRue was playing DNA detective Natalia Boa Vista on CSI: Miami, where her character helped solve crimes and catch criminals every week. The irony was not lost on LaRue that while she was portraying someone who always got justice on screen, her real-life case remained unsolved for 12 years.

“Ironically, I was playing a DNA detective on CSI-Miami, where we always catch our criminal,” LaRue explained. “In real life, the FBI could not solve the case for 12 years.”

The contrast between her television work and her real-life nightmare must have been incredibly difficult to process. While Natalia Boa Vista helped bring fictional criminals to justice, LaRue and her daughter continued to live in fear with no resolution in sight.

FBI Heroes and Groundbreaking Technology

When the case finally broke, it was thanks to the incredible persistence of FBI agents who refused to let the case go cold. The FBI pioneered groundbreaking technology called forensic genealogy, which uses DNA and family history databases to identify suspects who have eluded capture for years.

“The heroes of the story are the incredible FBI agents who refused to let our case go cold,” LaRue wrote. “They pioneered a groundbreaking technology called Forensic Geneology, using DNA and family history databases to identify suspects who had eluded capture for years. Their persistence didn’t just solve my case; it created a path for solving others once thought impossible.”

The breakthrough came just in time for LaRue and her daughter. “For us, it happened in the nick of time,” she revealed.

The forensic genealogy technology that helped solve LaRue‘s case has since been used to solve other cases that were previously thought impossible to crack. The FBI’s work on LaRue‘s case has had a lasting impact on how law enforcement approaches cold cases involving unidentified suspects.

Turning Adversity Into Advocacy

LaRue made the difficult decision to share her story publicly through this documentary. She acknowledges that choosing to tell her story was not easy, as it required her to relive incredibly painful and traumatic experiences.

“Sharing the story has been raw, painful, and deeply personal,” LaRue admitted. “Choosing to tell it was not easy, but I believe it matters.”

LaRue‘s hope is that by shining a light on her experience, other victims will find strength, awareness, and perhaps even healing. She wants to turn her adversity into advocacy for others who may be experiencing similar situations.

“My hope is that by shining a light on this experience, others will find strength, awareness, and perhaps even healing- turning adversity into advocacy,” LaRue explained.

“My Nightmare Stalker: The Eva La Rue Story” is a two-part documentary that will premiere on Paramount Plus on November 13. The documentary will detail LaRue‘s 12-year ordeal, the FBI’s investigation, and the groundbreaking technology that finally brought her stalker to justice.

“This chapter in my life, is the most personal work I’ve ever done,” LaRue wrote. “It’s the story of survival, transparency, and the courage we find when we have no other choice but to keep going.”

LaRue thanked her supporters for being part of her journey and for helping bring her story to light. By sharing her experience, she hopes to raise awareness about stalking, support other victims, and highlight the incredible work of the FBI agents who refused to give up on her case.
