On Days of our Lives, Johnny was recently cleared of shooting his father, EJ, in a high-stakes court battle. Kristen showed up at the proceedings and confessed to the crime to protect her daughter, Rachel, the real culprit. During Johnny’s trial, EJ tried passing off a deepfake video in which Chanel threatened him, casting doubt on whether or not Johnny was guilty. While all this plus a failed adoption have weighed heavily on the couple, their real-world counterparts Carson Boatman and Raven Bowens embarked on a fun, historical adventure, away from Salem’s drama.
When History Meets Hollywood Nostalgia
The DOOL official Instagram page shared a video of Boatman and Bowens, with the caption, “From classic TV to Days drama, these lights have seen it all! Now at the Valley Relics Museum, Carson & Raven share the story of these lights. Can you guess the shows they lit before Days? 🌟.” In conjunction with that was a video of the two stars at the museum, with Boatman showing some large items and explaining, “These are the stage lights that have been used at NBC Studios since 1955.” They went on to explain when the lights were created.
The duo further explained the large lights were used, “for the filming and taping of the 1968 Elvis comeback special, and Nat King Cole special, The Dean Martin Show, The Fred Astaire Show.” They added that the lights were also used on DOOL, “since 1965 all the way up until this current July, 2025.” The lights had been retired in July, and the show donated them to the museum.
Hollywood Nostalgia on Full Display
The video also depicted a veritable cornucopia of pop culture items, including the neon ‘Welcome to Valley Relics Museum’ sign, which was modeled after the iconic ‘Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas’ sign. There was also a neon sign for Bob’s Big Boy, the classic California diner chain immortalized in the films Austin Powers and Clueless, along with posters from Mexican pop cinema. Other items of note included a model of E.T., a vintage CHiPs-style police motorcycle, and Pee-wee Herman’s costume, among many other fascinating items.
Castmate Cherie Jimenez (Gabi) commented, “I love this 😍⏳👏🏽,” while Ashley Puzemis (Holly) remarked, “Just another historical reason why DOOL is the coolest show around 😌.” The fans were enthused by the post and fascinated by the history of the stage lights, with one praising, “Awesome history.”
