Beyond the Gates spoilers for the fall suggest that the lives of Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) and Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) will change forever due to the passing of a character and the revelation of lies.
It’s easy to think that lies will rock Ashley’s world, as Derek Baldwin (Ben Gavin) is keeping his progress hidden from the good nurse and the rest of his medical team.
Derek has been hush-hush about the feeling he’s noticed in his legs, and as Ashley just proposed marriage, he’ll likely continue this charade to ensure she follows through on saying her “I do’s”.
This leaves Vanessa’s world rocked by someone dying, and this could mean that one of the two men in her life could meet their demise.
Joey Armstrong Versus Doug McBride
It seems like the obvious choice for a character to pass would be Doug McBride (Jason Graham). After all, he isn’t as prominent on the canvas as Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom). Plus, Joey’s romance with Vanessa is sizzling hot, and Doug’s love life with his wife is nonexistent.
With that said, BTG spoilers for the week of September 15-19 hint that Doug will have a concrete plan to bring Joey down. While Joey is a key player in Fairmont Crest, how shocking would it be if he died … especially at the hands of Doug?
This would certainly cause Vanessa to spiral, as she grew to love Joey. In addition, what would happen to Joey’s organization? Who would step up to run things?
This could offer the new CBS soap an opportunity to introduce a new, even more vile character to wreak havoc for everyone on screen.
The show’s Creator and Head Writer, Michele Val Jean, recently told TV Insider, there’s more casting news on the horizon, with another surprise that fans will enjoy. Could this new character ‘replace’ Joey?
