Vernon Dupree Has Another Woman?
The Beyond the Gates preview opens with Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) on the phone with someone unknown, in his mansion. He’s telling the person in a quiet voice, “I know what I’m doing. Let me do this my way.”
As the promo progresses, the next scene shows Vernon arriving at a hotel, as a woman with short hair (that can’t be seen) opens the door, Vernon apologizes for being late.
It almost looks like the woman could be Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) wearing one of her “short hair” wigs, so only time will tell.
Ashley Morgan Catches Derek Baldwin
As the BTG preview goes on, Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson) is on the phone at the hospital as she tells someone, “If you don’t fess up soon, I’m pretty sure you’ll regret it.” She’s likely talking to Derek Baldwin (Ben Gavin), who is standing up in his apartment, on the phone as well.
As he is talking, Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) walks in, and his fiancé is pleasantly surprised at what she sees. Ashley exclaims, “OMG, this is incredible! Look at you!” Derek seems pretty relieved at her response.
Samantha Richardson Leaves Home
Across town, Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) is shown at home, as she’s telling Samantha Richardson (Najah Jackson) that this is her “last day”. It looks like he’s nixing Samantha’s modeling job as the spokesperson for ChelseaKat purses.
His daughter questions why he’d take away her dream. Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning) and Tyrell Richardson (Jaiden Lucas Miller) are present during the father-daughter confrontation, as Samantha emotionally declares, “I hate you!” As the promo continues, Samantha is shown leaving the family home, while Smitty begs her to stop.
Eva Thomas Versus Kat Richardson
As the Beyond the Gates preview wraps up, Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) is with Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson) at the nurse’s station in the hospital. She turns to tell someone, “I called him, Dad”.
Katherine “Kat” Richardson (Colby Muhammad) is shown, looking shocked. Shanice is in the background, watching the encounter, and so is Nicole Dupree (Daphnee Duplaix). Kat storms off, as she tells her dad that she hopes he enjoys the one daughter he has, because he can’t have both of them.
The final scene of the video is of Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) and Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) enjoying a meal at the country club when a woman stops by to chat with them.
She may have presumably asked Vanessa what she’s doing with the casino owner, as Joey boldly admits to “killing off” Vanessa’s husband so he could have her all to himself. A close-up of Vanessa’s mortified face is shown, and then the promo ends.
