Supermodel Bella Hadid is back on the streets of Paris, just ahead of Fashion Week. Her appearance follows a serious health scare that left fans concerned she was hospitalized.
Last Seen Looking Very Unwell
The 28-year-old model was last seen sharing personal photos of her struggle with Lyme disease. In her images, she looked so unwell, and one of them revealed that possibly, she’d been crying. At the time, fans assumed that the sister of Gigi Hadid was fighting her recurring Lyme disease.
Fortunately, it looks like she got through the horrible time because photos circulating on social media reveal that she seems ready to get back to work. Actually, her mom had confirmed the illness was related to her Lyme Disease, which she battled with since 2013.
Parade noted that her mom, Yolanda, had described the illness as an “invisible disability.” In fact, her battle with the illness, which altered her Olympic equestrian dreams, impacted Bella’s life a lot. So, being seen in Paris this week feels like a triumph.
Looking Much Better
On X, photos showed that Bella Hadid wore a brown trench coat with straight-leg jeans. That might sound boring, but nothing Bella ever wears can be described as that. In fact, she looked chic and ready to roll.
Fans quickly celebrated her comeback online, with one declaring, “Queen is backkkkk.” Another noted her stylish look had a “Carolyn Bessette tease.”
However, not everyone was so kind. Bella became something of an advocate for the debilitating illness, but some critics slammed her, claiming she’s been ill because of an eating disorder. One loyal fan, @@judyjazmine, countered it by writing:
The way people are talking about Bella Hadid’s chronic illness makes me so mad. You can literally die from Lyme disease she’s probably going through so much excruciating pain and all ppl can talk about is how she’s lying and is anorexic and it makes me so mad because she’s so open.
Other Celebs Who Battle The Illness
Other celebs afflicted by the tick-borne illness include Justin Timberlake. Justin Bieber revealed his bad experience with it back in 2020. And, Avril Lavigne was ill and bedridden for months in 2014. Other well-known folks who struggled with the fatigue and lingering effects of it include Kelly Osbourne, Amy Schumer, and Alec Baldwin.
Did you know that Shania Twain dealt with a severe bout of it, and for a bit, it seemed doubtful that she’d sing again. Not every person who gets Lyme Disease has bouts of it flaring up again like Bella Hadid, but according to PubMed, folks might fall ill because of “immune dysfunction, inflammation, toxin damage,” and more. But it’s not fully understood yet.
