TL;DR: Y&R fans are finally embracing Claire Newman after months of bland perfection. Standing up to Victor Newman, having a public catfight with Audra Charles at Society, and ditching Kyle Abbott for a hot L.A. trip with Holden Novak has transformed Claire from boring to must-watch TV. Team Claire is officially activated.
Since Claire Grace now Newman tried to kill most of the Newmans, she’s been as boring as the day is long and has had plenty of screen time. Finally, Claire has found some of her spice back. She’s holding her own and taking names.
Now this is a version of Claire that Young and the Restless fans can tune in for…
Soap Opera Fans Turn ‘Team Claire’ on Y&R
For months, nearly everyone in Genoa City had something to do with Claire Newman (Hayley Erin). Ergo, Young and the Restless fans had to deal with Claire Newman, also, almost every freaking day. Despite Claire nearly killing almost all of the Newmans, almost all of the Newmans have adored her like she’s the best thing since sliced bread, except for her cousin Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). So, with all of Claire’s Newman clout and her dating Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), basically all of Genoa City was ‘Team Claire,’ except for Summer Newman and almost every single Young and the Restless fan.
Well, that has all changed. Young and the Restless fans may not be on the Cane Train, but one by one they are getting on the Claire Train with their pom-poms… It’s ‘Team Claire’ in and out of Y&R!!
Standing Up to Victor, Newman to Newman on Y&R
Too little and too late, but Claire earned some Genoa City street cred when she stood up to her grandfather, The Almighty Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Newmans and non-Newmans have tried to stand up to The Mustache, but they have failed. Claire was raised by Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) for Pete’s sake. She has no fear.
Again, Claire playing Miss Perfect has been SO boring. Y&R fans have been wondering why Miss Claire hasn’t reminded her good old granddad that she has the power to kill. Anyway, she did stand up to him, and he finally supposedly approved of her and Kyle Abbott’s relationship. Too bad Kyle already messed things up and wasted everyone who was involved’s time when he was in the South of France on the Dumas trip from Hell with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
Class ‘A’ Cat Fight with Audra Charles in Public in GC
Well, of course, if there’s a cat fight in Genoa City, it’s going to be in public, as Young and the Restless fans rarely see its residents’ homes. Claire Newman and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) had one at Society, and it was a beaut!!
Miss Claire was a few Vespers in with her BFF Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), and then Miss Audra showed up. Claire Newman, back to close to crazy, is way fun, and Young and the Restless fans will take more.
Claire with Kyle vs Claire with Holden, Fans Pick Holden
Holden is HOT. Perhaps Kyle is attractive to some, but his history of being Genoa City’s most entitled adult brat depletes any potential attraction by anyone who knows him even a little about him. Claire was brand new to Genoa City. She was Harrison’s (Redding Munsell) nanny. Of course, Kyle was cute to her. See also Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle)… But you can’t because Kyle duper her too & she left town for bigger and better.
Now add in Vesper time with Holden and deduct Kyle making a deal with Victor Newman, meanwhile making out with Audra Charles. This soap opera story problem equals Claire finally calling it quits with Kyle and taking a field trip to L.A. with Holden.
This field trip with Holden to L.A. isn’t going to be like anything Kyle has done with her and Young and the Restless CAN NOT wait!!
