The Show Started Filming In July, And Has Recently Finished
Filming commenced on July 1, 2025, and has now officially wrapped up this month; When Calls the Heart has completed its filming-Hallmark has renewed the beloved drama for a thirteenth season.
Hearties are eagerly anticipating the premiere date-after filming wrapped, the show’s star Erin Krakow (Elizabeth Thornton) took a moment to relax.
She felt exhausted yet thankful and excited for the upcoming season; Krakow is looking forward to showing Hearties what unfolds next in Hope Valley.
She posted an Instagram photo of herself in character as Elizabeth, captioning it, “That’s a wrap on @wcth_tv Season 13! We’re proud, pleased, and pooped-that’s a lot of P words, can’t wait to share this beautiful season with all of you!”
Hearties Are Excited For The Premiere Of the Upcoming Season
Fans are buzzing with excitement for the upcoming season, one viewer exclaimed, “This is amazing- I can’t wait for the 13th season!” ” Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) and Elizabeth are in quite the situation together;” another remarked, “Could it be that ‘proposal’ is among the words? I certainly hope so; we need to quicken the pace, haha.”
Krakow’s co-star, Kevin McGarry, joined the conversation, making light of the situation by saying, “We’re getting increasingly bad at hitting our marks.” During the summer, Hearties were taken aback to discover that filming for Season 13 commenced on July 1 in British Columbia.
So, When Does Season Thirteen Premiere?
Krakow’s post hints that Hearties will be back in Hope Valley soon, this year is going by fast, so the new season will arrive quickly.
In March 2025, Hallmark renewed the show for its thirteenth season; this news followed the Season 12 finale, which left fans hanging. Krakow shared a message on Instagram: “When Calls the Heart is back for season 13, and we are SO EXCITED!
We can’t wait to return to Hope Valley to share more stories you love-see you on Hallmark!” The video displayed the text, “When Calls the Heart New Season Coming 2026;” it’s expected that Season 13 will debut in early 2026.
The Cliffhanger Ending
Hearties will remember the cliffhanger ending, when Elizabeth, Little Jack Thornton, (Hyland Goodrich) Nathan and Allie Grant (Jaeda Lily Miller) left for a far away clinic.
Little Jack was accepted into a medical program where he could receive insulin for his diabetes, which was a new thing in those days-almost experimental.
The town where the clinic is was close to where Little Jack’s paternal grandmother lived, Charlotte Thornton (Brooke Shields).
It’s expected to be a good outcome, although again, Elizabeth and Charlotte may endure some friction at first. But everything will be okay in the end.
