Hallmark Channel spoilers and updates reveal “Finding Mr. Christmas” star Jonathan Bennett is uncovering the true process behind selecting the network’s next leading man.
The inaugural season of the show successfully discovered its star, Ezra Moreland, who recently appeared in Hallmark’s 2024 Christmas film, Happy Howlidays.
Bennett Wants Viewers To Have A Behind-The-Scenes Sneak Peek
Currently, Bennett is excited to reach a bigger audience to reveal the fascinating secrets behind the scenes at the cherished network.
He feels that Finding Mr. Christmas “is not just a show meant for fans of reality competition programs.” He passionately states, “The main message I want to share with viewers and loyal fans is that if you love Hallmark Christmas movies, this show has been designed just for you.
Yes, it is a reality competition series, but it also provides exclusive behind-the-scenes content. Also, a deep dive into the captivating process of how these magical Christmas films are created,” he expresses with enthusiasm in a recent chat with Soaps.com.
Bennett is Not Only Host, He’s The Executive Producer
As an executive producer and host, Bennett is deeply involved in the show, which features a funny challenge that combines acting and skiing with contestants. Janel Parrish, the star of Coyote Creek Christmas also participates.
The concept originated while filming a scene for his upcoming holiday movie, A Keller Christmas Vacation, alongside Eden Sher and Brandon Routh. “We were in Vienna filming at the Christmas markets, and we had just 30 minutes to put on our ice skates, glide to the center of the rink and have the cameras circle around us. And then, deliver our lines,” he remembers about his experience in Vienna, Austria; “The director said, ‘You have 30 minutes, and we need to leave the ice”.
That Was The Inspiration For “Finding Mr. Christmas”
If we don’t get it, the movie is ruined, and we’re finished.‘ I had never skated before-Brandon had never skated before either, and we just figured it out. This is what ignited the concept for the challenge in the second season of Finding Mr. Christmas. “We provide our participants with a script, then we tell them, ‘You have 15 minutes to memorize these pages.
After that, Janel Parrish, one of Hallmark’s iconic stars, will join you to perform the scene. And just so you know, the scene requires you to ski down a hill on actual snow skis while Janelle delivers your lines,’” he explains.
The Scene Was Hilarious
Let’s just say, the scene had us in stitches, but there’s more depth to it than that — and that’s what Bennett hopes Hallmark fans will recognize.
“You’re witnessing the meet-cute, the kiss at the end, and all the elements you’ve come to adore, and you’re getting a unique, behind-the-scenes glimpse into these movies,” he elaborates. “And you’re now privy to the casting process of how we discover the next Andrew Walker, Tyler Hynes, Paul Campbell, or Wes Brown. You’re involved in the casting process of how we find those actors. Yes, it’s a reality competition show, but it’s tailored for the Hallmark super fan.”
Season 2 of Finding Mr. Christmas debuts on Monday, Oct. 27 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel. Season 1 is currently available for streaming on Hallmark+.
