General Hospital spoilers reveal Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) has been hanging out in a coma that no one saw coming for the last two months, completely unaware that her life has been turned upside down since she closed her eyes.
Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) return has sparked a flurry of fan rumors — from him being a plant, to him being brainwashed, to a seven-year-long hiatus where he was held in captivity.
A new theory is gaining traction, and as much as I would hate for this to be the case, my wheels are turning with curiosity as to whether our beloved Nathan, returned from the grave, may actually be a very different un-dead character: His brother, Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
Something is Just “Off”
Few are arguing that everything looks and feels just right at this point. We were so excited when Nathan turned up in that car crash. Our hearts skipped a beat just thinking about Maxie waking up to her husband, alive and in the flesh!
While some fans are questioning whether Maxie will ever even cross paths with whoever they think is lurking behind Nathan’s eyes, others suggest she could wake up just in time to tell everyone something they’ve been overlooking: That’s not Nathan!
Peter Could Carry Out His Father’s Sinister Plans
The last time we saw Peter, before Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) bludgeoned him with a tire iron, he was bent on proving himself worthy of Maxie’s love.
As sick and twisted as he was, Peter’s storyline breathed new life into GH at a time when fans were growing concerned about trailing ratings.
With so much talk about Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), and questions looming about who would be qualified enough to carry out his work posthumously, Peter naturally comes to mind.
Could he be lurking in Nathan’s? Might that face we love be yet another result of masterful surgeries, mind mapping, and schemes that only someone as dark and deceitful as Faison could pull off?
Leave it to the Maxonista
In the end, Maxie can wrap this story up with a neat little bow and go back to her storybook life with Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). Come on, none of us really wanted to see Spinelli get kicked to the curb just because Maxie’s other true love came back into the picture.
This way, we get to scratch that itch that is seeing Nathan again, while exploring what might’ve been, and then tucking it all away into a corner of our mind in preparation for Spinelli to pop the question.
It sounds like a win-win, but the road ahead to get there is looking pretty long! How long after waking up might it take before Maxie senses something isn’t right with her doting husband? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
