Robert Irwin is the breakout star of DWTS’s 34th season, and it only took him one dance to get there.
Within two weeks, the 21-year-old star television personality accumulated over a million views for two of his dance videos. The first was a Jive to Steppenwolf’s ‘Born to Be Wild,’ whilst the second one was his One-Hit Wonders Tango to ‘Move Your Feet.’
Now, as the season comes to an end, we can’t help but wonder whether the fan-favorite star will be walking home with the coveted mirrorball.
Fans Cheer For Robert Irwin To Win the 34th Season of ‘DWTS’
Robert Irwin is more popularly known for his conservative efforts, his short-lived reality TV run, and as a zookeeper, like his late father Steve Irwin. These days, he’s also added dance floor cred to his many inviting qualities, and fans are living for it.
Partnered with season 19 champ Witney Carson, Irwin is totally blowing his competition away with his incredible moves. He’s also the only contestant this season to accumulate over a million views on his dances.
“What an amazing young man! He makes you feel happy, and that’s huge. Team Robert all the way!” one fan commented in one of his YouTube videos, with another adding, “He truly has the potential to win this whole thing.”
But the fans aren’t the only ones that’s he’s making happy with his smooth moves. He’s even endeared himself to the judges, with Judge Derek Hough dubbing their premiere night dance “the best first dance I’ve ever seen on this show.”
Since then, Irwin and Carson have been setting the bar higher and higher.
Right from his debut, his videos have nearly always soared to over a million views, with his premiere night dance nearly at 2 million views.
If Irwin and his big numbers are removed, next up to win the interest of fans is Jordan Chiles. His One-Hit Wonders Night Jive set to Michael Sembellos’ “Maniac” has been watched over 600,000 times.
If Irwin can turn his YouTube audience into consistent voters, he’s definitely a shoo-in for the mirrorball.
In the meantime, you can catch what’s left of season 34 by tuning into ABC or Disney+ on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET for new episodes.
