Sean “Diddy” Combs, AKA P Diddy, was sentenced to four years in prison under the Mann Act. With time already served behind bars, he will probably serve about two years. However, updates reveal he could be out much sooner than that. Read on for more details.

Why An Early Release?

Remember when Diddy’s bail was refused for the third time? The judge felt that evidence of violence had been proven. However, folks started to wonder if he might end up getting a pardon from President Donald Trump. Diddy hadn’t been nice about Trump ahead of the elections, but he seemed amenable and let it slide.

Well, Trump pardoned Julie and Todd Chrisley, and that was big news. So, the idea of another pardon, this time for the music mogul, doesn’t seem impossible. This week, TMZ reported that information from inside the White House revealed the president is considering a commutation.

A Commutation

In their article, the reporter wrote:

Donald Trump is considering commuting Diddy’s sentence as early as this week.

The report also noted, “We’re told some of the W.H. staff are urging Trump not to commute the sentence.”

What does it mean if P Diddy gets a commutation? Well, you probably hear of folks getting their death sentences commuted to life. So, the criminal record isn’t cleared. However, it does mean that Diddy could end up getting out of prison very soon.

Why On Earth Would Trump Do That?

When the news arrived on TMZ’s Instagram, folks had a chance to discuss the possibility of a commutation. Bear in mind, P Diddy already had his charges reduced from sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy to two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. And, that doesn’t sound very nice to many people.

So, in the comments section, one person wondered, “I don’t get why a president of the united states would want anything to do with this case. What the hell is going on in this country[?]”

Actually, given the many accusations by women against Trump, it might be better for him to stay well away. After all, many people disliked the details that emerged during the trial. And really, two years isn’t a long time behind bars.
