'General Hospital' Recap October 17: Nathan Pleads With Nina, Britt’s Plea, and Nina’s Risky GambleGeneral Hospital recaps for Friday, October 17 reveal Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) needed intel from Jack Brennan, (Chris L. McKenna) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) dug for info from Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).

Plus, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) needed help from Jason Morgan, (Steve Burton) and Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) wanted to help Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

Anna Needed Intel From Jack

Anna visited the WSB to confront Jack about taking Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) to see Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) in Switzerland.

She was hoping to extract information on Cesar Faison (Anders Hove); she pressed him for details. Jack insisted it was classified, but Anna worried about Port Charles’ safety and the need for collaboration. (Make sure to check out our weekly GH spoilers, here!)

He questioned her connection to Faison, and she reminded him that two of his children had recently returned from the dead, plus Valentin’s ties to Faison’s organization. Jack maintained he had unfinished business with Valentin and didn’t require her assistance.

Anna Kept Insisting  On  Collaboration

As Anna kept pressing him to let her in, Jack reminded her that Faison was no longer alive. “I know,” she answered. “I witnessed them place his brain in a jar. That was the highlight of my life.” He felt concerned about her fixation on the villain, and she shot back that he could go to hell. “I’ve already been there,” he retorted. “Just like you.”

Anna asserted that she understood Faison better than anyone else, and she wanted to assist him because he was in too deep. She then cautioned that Jack’s arrogance would lead to fatalities before storming out of his office, quite possibly his.

Carly Dug For Info From Joss

After sending Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Brielle) off to school, Josslyn told Carly how much her little sister had grown and questioned if she’d really been away that long.

Carly pointed out that with school, work, and travel, she’s been quite busy since Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) passed away. Josslyn recalled shooting Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) in revenge and confessed she felt lost after Dex’s death, unsure how to move forward.

Trying to encourage Joss to open up, Carly mentioned she eventually got her life back on track, and Josslyn said running away to Easter Island was the best choice she ever made.

Carly asked how the trip was “life-changing,” and Josslyn wove a tale about discovering a new place and gaining new insights.

Josslyn Told Carly She Needed Purpose

“I felt so… helpless after Dex died,” she shared, “and the trip… it gave me a new sense of purpose-it gave me a new direction. So I don’t know, I guess I got what I needed from those giant stone heads;” Carly laughed along, but it was a bit forced.

Carly voiced her worry that since Joss returned, there was a gap between them- Josslyn reassured her that despite her busy schedule, their bond remained unchanged.

With tears in her eyes, Carly stressed that their conversations weren’t what they used to be; “If something’s bothering you, whether it’s grief or just life, I’m here,” she told her daughter.

“You can share anything with me, no matter what;” Josslyn began to tear up, feeling guilty, but promised that if she had something to share, she would, and they would face it together.

Josslyn And Carly Continued To Talk

She mentioned she was just concentrating on graduating and starting her adult life; she insisted they were okay, but as Carly hugged her, it was clear she felt otherwise.

When Carly worried her daughter felt neglected due to her focus on Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and the grandkids, Joss reassured her she understood.

She speculated if the distance stemmed from disapproval of Jack- Josslyn confessed she wasn’t fond of Brennan but wanted her mother to be happy.

After Dex’s death, she felt like isolating herself, but her trip made her realize honoring his sacrifice meant making a difference.

She claimed her environmental science major would help improve the world, and Carly smiled tightly, aware it was untrue.

Britt Asked Jason For Help

Britt arrived at Bobbie’s and frowned at the sight of Jason outside, who mentioned wanting to grab his stuff from his room, but she had previously made him hand over the key.

She began to give him the key back, but remembering her box of medicine in the room, she chose to accompany him instead.

As Jason left the diner, Britt chased after him to ask if he’d co-sign a loan for a car she wanted. He was taken aback to learn she wanted to buy a Mercedes, so Britt shared that she drove one at The Five Poppies until the incident with the donkey.

When Josslyn passed by, Jason inquired if she’d spoken to her mother, and she replied that they had a pleasant chat.

Nathan Talked To Dante And Wanted To Help Nina

At Bobbie’s, Nathan asked Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna)  for details about the charges against his sister, who’d been arrested for conspiracy to murder Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

Dante said he couldn’t discuss the investigation, but since Nina is family, Dante revealed that the police discovered she provided a false alibi for herself and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen).

Nathan thought Nina was just trying to protect her daughter, while Dante questioned how far she might go.

Nathan felt odd being out of the loop with the PCPD and his family, so he asked Dante for his personal take on the case. Dante confessed he wasn’t sure if Willow was guilty of shooting Drew.

Nina  Was Offered A Plea Bargain

Nina sat in the ADA’s office with Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) as Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) offered options: face charges for accessory to attempted murder or cooperate with the DA against Willow.

When Marco announced he would seek to dismiss the charges due to insufficient evidence, Justine said they could still charge her with obstruction and false information, which Marco noted were just misdemeanors.

Justine mentioned the security footage that contradicted Nina’s alibi with Willow, but Nina insisted it was fake and she was with her daughter.

Justine asserted the footage was authentic and offered to reduce the charges to a false statement if Nina cooperated.

After Justine left, Nina expressed her reluctance to betray her daughter, but Marco encouraged her to accept the deal.

Nathan Arrived, And Talked To Nina

Nathan arrived, and Nina introduced him to Marco before they talked about the DA’s offer; Nathan agreed with her lawyer that Nina should be truthful.

Nina felt guilty for giving the alibi but wanted to protect her daughter, making it impossible to retract her statement now.

Marco warned that this wasn’t beneficial for either her or Willow, and Nathan backed him up, suggesting that if Willow shot Drew out of passion, her lawyer could build a defense.

Marco added that Nina could testify that Drew had pushed Willow too far, and Nathan warned that if this went to trial, their conspiracy would seem premeditated.

Nina didn’t want to leave her daughter without an alibi, but Marco said it had been disproved, and keeping wouldn’t work;  Justine came back and asked if Nina had made a choice.

Willow Didn’t Want To Listen To Her Lawyer

Willow urged Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) to prove she was framed by Drew’s actual shooter, Michael-however, he replied that their priority was the arraignment and securing her bail.

Drew stormed into the police station, demanding to see Willow. Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) quickly stopped him, reminding him that as the victim, he needed to keep his distance from the accused.

Drew argued he wasn’t her victim and pushed past Chase to reach Willow, who ran into his arms as he reassured her that he believed she didn’t shoot him.

Martin Asked About The Alibi Nina Had Given Willow, She Admitted It Was Fake

Martin asked Willow if she still supported the alibi Nina provided; she confessed she had no alibi and just went along with Nina’s story, believing she needed protection.

Willow pondered whether to share this with the judge. Martin laughed, saying that was a matter for her defense attorney.

Willow thought that was him, but he clarified he could assist her with the process, yet since he represented the victim, it posed a conflict of interest.

When Martin proposed they find a solid criminal defense lawyer, Drew snapped at him, insisting they didn’t need his help and to leave.

Martin Reminded Drew They Did Need His Help

Martin reminded the congressman of his importance, assuring him that they would see him at the arraignment, because they did indeed need him .

Once alone, Willow confided in Drew, agreeing with him about Michael and expressing the need to protect the kids from him, citing how dangerous a man Michael was. Drew reassured her that they would take action as soon as they could establish her innocence.

“Drew, you mentioned you would be prepared to inform the police that you recall Michael as the one who shot you,” she suggested. “Would you genuinely do that, for me and my children?” and Drew confirmed he would.

Dante And Chase Argued Over The Case Back At The Station

Dante arrived back at the station, where Chase furiously informed him that Willow was set to be arraigned for a crime she didn’t commit, as Michael had framed her for attempted murder.

Dante pointed out to Chase that there was no evidence to support that claim, but Chase countered that Michael had both the opportunity and motive to place the gun in Willow’s room.

Dante conceded that it made sense, but cautioned Chase that he didn’t seem unbiased. Chase pressed Dante on who he genuinely believed was more likely to have committed the crime, insisting that Michael’s criminal record included murder.

He then expressed frustration that Dante was being biased by not viewing Michael as a legitimate suspect.

Brook Lynn Talked To Michael

Brook Lynn Quartermaine-Chase (Amanda Setton) felt anxious about organizing the tea party for Ronnie Bard (Erika Slezak), hoping to win her over so she wouldn’t sell the house and displace everyone.

Michael expressed his desire for Ronnie to keep the house, as it would mean his children wouldn’t lose both their home and their mother.

Brook Lynn observed that Wiley and Amelia Corinthos (Viron Weaver, Serenity and Sequoia Mork Macko) were deeply affected by Willow’s arrest and questioned what Anna and Dante were thinking.

Michael said everything turned out well since Willow could no longer see the kids alone; after Brook Lynn left, Dante walked in and placed his badge on the table in front of Michael. “I’m here as your brother, not as a cop,” he declared; “Prove it to me, prove that you didn’t set up your ex-wife for attempted murder.”
