Ace Frehley of the legendary rock bank KISS is dead following a devastating brain bleed that occurred weeks earlier.
The iconic musician was on a ventilator and he died Thursday when his family made the difficult decision to turn off life support.
According to TMZ, Frehley collapsed in his home studio a few weeks ago and hit his head after falling. He was taken to the hospital where his condition worsened to the point that the remaining tour dates were cancelled.

Sources told the outlet that Frehley was on a ventilator for days before the family made their heartbreaking decision.

Frehley left the band in 1982 to launched Frehley’s Comet. He rejoined the group for their blockbuster 1996 reunion tour and stayed until 2002. He continued to perform and record solo in the years that followed.
Ironically, Frehley’s official Instagram on September 25 reassured fans that he was “fine” but reported that doctors ordered him not to travel. One week later a follow-up post stated he was canceling the remainder of his 2025 dates due to “ongoing medical issues.”
Ace Frehley Cancelled His Tour Days Before His Death
Rumors of the rocker’s death surfaced after veteran music journalist Mitch Lafon tweeted “Ace, Thank you for the music & memories God bless.”
The sentiment was echoed by Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan who posted “Godspeed, Ace.”
The posts alerted frantic to the death after an official Instagram post on Monday, October 6: “Due to some ongoing medical issues, Ace has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of his 2025 dates.”
The post added “Dear Rock Soldiers, Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital. He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time. As a result, he is forced to cancel his performance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California on Friday, September 26th.”
It continued: “Please go to the fair to support his friends in Quiet Riot and Vixen, and Ace looks forward to continuing on his tour and finishing work on his next album, Origins Vol. 4.”
The news about Frehley’s death comes days after his KISS bandmate Simmons spoke out after a car crash in Malibu. Simmons was hospitalized last week after “apparently passing out while driving down Pacific Coast Highway and slamming into a parked car.”
The 74-year old was treated at a local hospital and later released at which time he posted on X “Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes. I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us who are horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.”
