Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates hint that Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) will soon be hit with a painful memory, forcing her to relive the trauma from the night EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) was shot.
Rachel has blocked out what happened because remembering that she shot her own uncle is just too much for her.
EJ DiMera Nearly Died, And Rachel’s Mind Repressed Those Memories
EJ almost died, so Rachel has pushed those memories away for now, traumatic memory repression is an automatic response to protect the mind. Still, fans can see that she feels uneasy around EJ, and that’s not all that shocking. Sooner or later, those memories will come back, and she’ll understand why she’s been acting this way.
Spoilers suggest Rachel’s behavior will get worse before it improves, especially since she’s now plotting with Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) and leading him into trouble too. Rachel’s acting out is also a defense mechanism, an unconscious way of protecting herself against that which she cannot handle emotionally.
What Could Trigger Rachel’s Traumatic Memories?
What could finally bring Rachel’s memories back? It might be connected to all the drama with Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord). Rachel is now involved in Cat’s story, giving Thomas advice to keep Cat and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) apart.
Spoilers tease that some Halloween chaos is coming for Cat, who will be attacked in the town square.
Someone in a lab coat will go after Cat with a knife, and Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) will warn her just in time. Cat will fall into Chad’s arms, but it looks like someone will still get hurt.
Halloween Time, So It Could Just Be Someone’s Nightmare Or Fantasy
This could turn out to be a fantasy, or someone’s nightmare, or Cat might really be in danger; with Halloween happening, there could be kids around when everything unfolds.
If Rachel sees the attack on Cat, the shock might bring back her own painful memories. That could be what finally makes her remember almost killing EJ at the DiMera mansion, but of course, something else could also trigger Rachel’s memories of that night.
Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) is now Rachel and Thomas’s substitute teacher, so it’s possible that something wild at school could bring Rachel’s memories back instead. No matter how it happens, spoilers say Rachel will eventually remember that she was the shooter and realize Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) took the fall for her.
