A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms - HBO - YouTube

On Thursday, October 9, HBO dropped the full trailer for the Game of Thrones prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Some concept videos had arrived, but now that the full trailer is here, folks seem to love the different approach to the spinoff.

The First Full Trailer

The full trailer came a day after Rotten Tomatoes shared a very short teaser for the new show. It revealed Dunk and Egg (Peter Claffey as the knight Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as his young squire, Prince Aegon Targaryen, spying on a camp.

However, much more came in the new trailer shared by @JioHotstar on YouTube on Wednesday night. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms seemed to be very well received by GOT fans.

One fan wrote in the comments, “No Dragons, no Magic, just pure Politics, Drama, Adventure and Story line especially for Maester Aemon, Maekar and of course Brynden Rivers. Waiting for this fresh masterpiece.” Well, that wasn’t entirely accurate.

What The Trailer Showed

In the trailer, fans of Game of Thrones saw jousting, sword fighting, training, magical scenes, and yes, a dragon spouting fire. It’s action, adventure, and brings lots of masks, mud, dirt, and battle. But it’s not as large as the original scenes seen on GOT.

What fans did like about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is that the producers seemed to stick more with the original stories by R.R. Martin. One fan who reacted in the comments wrote:

I am so glad they went with the exact look of the graphic novels. There is something truly magical about those. Ser Duncan and Lionel Baratheons armor is Perfect.

Other Reactions

Plenty more comments arrived in the discussion area, and folks seem excited about the series that premieres on HBO in January next year. Here are some other reactions:

The Series Was Delayed

Initially, fans thought the series would drop this year. However, although filming in Belfast ended on schedule in September last year, post-production took a long time. Plus, some scenes were reportedly refilmed. That took place in July this year. Well, hopefully, the reshoots didn’t spoil something special from the show.

For now, fans seem quite happy with what they saw in the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms trailer, and they like the authenticity.
