General Hospital spoilers and updates suggest that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) may soon be a victim of poisoning, since he survived the first murder attempt. Will the would-be murderer adopt a different strategy now that Drew has survived the gunfire at the house?
Drew Was Shot Twice At His House That Night, The Shooter Probably Thought He Was Dead
That night, someone shot at Drew twice, likely believing he was finished when they departed, since Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) stayed quiet in Drew’s bedroom.
Fortunately, Drew managed to survive due to the timely arrival of Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and the paramedics she summoned, having gone there to reason with him about the kids.
Naturally, since Drew escaped the dire fate the assailant had in mind, he remains at risk, and will as long as the perpetrator is not brought to justice.
The shooter might attempt to complete their task, possibly opting for a different method, such as poisoning him this time, and there doesn’t appear to be security at his hospital room.
Drew’s shooting sparked significant drama and initiated a substantial investigation by the Port Charles Police Department, and they’re still on the hunt for the assassin.
It Would Be Too Risky To Try To Shoot Drew In The Hospital, Even With A Silencer
It appears to be too dangerous to take another shot at Drew, even with a silencer – plus, it would likely be too monotonous for the audience to witness again.
A more straightforward approach would be to introduce something harmful into Drew’s food or drink for this second try.
This method could be executed quietly and might mislead the police with a new strategy-one can easily picture Kai having to dial 911 due to his boss being unresponsive.
There’s a chance that Kai could even face accusations of poisoning Drew, especially once it’s revealed that his fingerprints were on the bat discovered at the last crime scene.
Regardless of the situation, it wouldn’t be shocking if the would-be murderer makes another daring attempt on Drew and changes tactics a little.
The Same Thing Happened When Sonny Corinthos Was Targeted
A comparable event took place when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was targeted, as he almost got caught in the penthouse explosion right before an assassin nurse attempted to inject him in LA.
Instead, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) was caught in the blast that was obviously meant for Sonny! To put it differently, it’s quite common for a character who is targeted to experience various forms of deadly threats as the storyline develops.
Drew might easily become a victim of poison next or find himself in another hazardous situation.
General Hospital spoilers suggest that Drew should keep his guard up following his release from GH, so stay tuned for any unsettling news that may come to light!
