It’s been the war of the spokespersons and sources since Prince Harry was granted his 53-minute audience with the King. I’m talking claims and counterclaims and denials and strongly worded messages.
However, the latest one seems to have caught the attention of Buckingham Palace. Men in grey suits did what?
King Charles “Perplexed” By Prince Harry’s Statement That Courtiers Don’t Want Them To Reconcile
“As you make your bed, so shall you lie on it,” goes an old saying that I’m sure Harry has not heard of. The internet is literally exploding with memes following his latest claims that there are people actively blocking his reconciliation process with his father.
No, it can’t have been ‘Spare’ or the other numerous attacks where he pictured his father as a trapped man who passes on generational pain, because his “conscience is clear.”
You know what the problem really is? Those dang men in grey suits.
Well, King Charles reportedly didn’t find the accusations funny, as, according to The Sunday Times, he was “saddened and perplexed” by it.
“The reality is that senior aides have been working behind the scenes to improve what is a delicate but important private family relationship,” a source told the media outlet, adding that the general Royal Family air is one of disappointment.
This, of course, is in response to Harry’s spokesperson attempting to blame Palace sources for the meeting leaks. One of these leaks alleged that Harry felt more like an official visitor than a family member.
Harry’s spokesperson told Page Six, “Recent reporting of The Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false.”
“The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son,” the statement continued. “Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged.”
A different report had further stated that Harry arrived at the meeting with his father, with photographs of Archie and Lilibet, which anyone can admit is a touching gift considering that the King hasn’t seen them in years.
Responding to this, Harry’s spokesperson claims: “While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity, we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however, the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess.”
