‘The View’ Hit With Last-Minute Cut Before Highly Anticipated Interview

The View’ Hit With Surprise Cut Ahead Of Major InterviewThe iconic daytime talk show The View abruptly vanished from screens this week as it was just getting started, leaving viewers baffled. This wasn’t the first time ABC had abandoned the show, according to devoted viewers, but the timing couldn’t have been more upsetting.

Since its debut in 1997, The View has weathered plenty of interruptions whenever breaking news or political coverage takes priority.

But this latest cut, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, felt particularly jarring. As The U.S. Sun reported, ABC preempted the first ten minutes of the show to broadcast former President Donald Trump’s address to the United Nations General Assembly.

Instead of the usual opening banter and Hot Topics segment, viewers were met with Trump’s speech. By the time The View returned, Whoopi Goldberg was already mid-sentence, leaving fans who tuned in from the start feeling like they’d joined a conversation halfway through.

A Highly Anticipated Guest

The disruption stung even more because this wasn’t just any episode. Vice President Kamala Harris was booked for a sit-down to promote her new book, 107 Days.

Her appearance was a notable one—it marked her first time back on the show since October 2024, when she was still running as the Democratic candidate for president.

Fortunately, ABC resumed programming in time for Harris’ interview, sparing fans from missing the main event.

Still, many were left frustrated about losing the show’s opening discussion, which, in the uncut version later posted online, included commentary on Trump and health concerns related to Tylenol.

Fans Vent Online

It didn’t take long for social media to light up with reactions. “This address is interfering with The View,” one fan complained. Another demanded bluntly, “Now do The View.”

Others tried to calm the storm, pointing out that the network made the full, unedited episode available later that day. “Luckily, it will be on their YouTube channel later in the afternoon. Full episodes of The View are on there,” one viewer reminded frustrated fans.

For ABC, the move wasn’t unusual—news has always had the power to bump even the most established daytime shows. But for loyal viewers of The View, especially those eager to watch Harris’ return, the interruption was just another reminder that politics and talk television often clash in real time.
