Prince Harry just can’t follow the Royal rules. Recently Prince Harry visited Clarence House and met with his father King Charles for 55 minutes.
That short meeting for the first time in over year will probably be the last for a while, because Harry has already broken protocol…again.
Today Prince Harry issued a statement to the press (via his rep), because he wanted to address all of the rumors and false stories in the press about his visit with his father. The Royal Family’s Golden Rule is they NEVER comment on rumors and rarely release statements regarding the Royals’ personal lives, unless it’ something major.
Royal Family Golden Rule Gets Broken
We can all agree that visiting your dad for less than an hour and giving him a framed photo is not major and note-worthy.
The Royal Family doesn’t even comment on pregnancy or death rumors, they would never address something so trivial in the tabloids. But, Harry isn’t technically a Royal anymore and he does what he wants.
Like clockwork, sources began leaking info about Harry and his Dad’s meeting with the Sun. One alleged insider told the tabloid that the Duke Of Sussex was treated coldly by his father.
That apparently didn’t set well with Harry and he wanted the world to know that wasn’t the case and his daddy was happy to see him.
Harry Starts A Tabloid War, Drags King Charles Into It
Prince Harry’s official statement reads, “Recent reporting of The Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false. The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son.
Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged. “While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity, we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however, the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess.”
After The Duke released his statement, The Sun released a statement stating his statement about their statement was inaccurate.
And, Harry has now started a full-blown war with the tabloid over what was supposed to be a family moment behind closed doors. It’s safe to say King Charles will let a few more years pass before he has another sit-down with his media loving son.
