I absolutely HATED Thursday’s episode. Like, genuinely wanted to throw something at my TV level of hatred. And apparently? I’m not alone. Reddit is EXPLODING. Twitter is on fire. The entire B&B fandom is united in one simple desire: Someone give Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) a damn hug already!
What Happened to Will Spencer on Bold and Beautiful?
Will Spencer was drugged and sexually assaulted by Luna Nozawa at his own promotion party. There. I said it plainly because the show sure as hell won’t! Luna (Lisa Yamada) — you know, the psycho who’s already killed two people and kidnapped Steffy Forrester — disguised herself as catering staff, spiked Will’s drinks until he was “blind drunk,” then followed him to his room where she assaulted him while he was incapacitated.
But here’s where it gets WORSE…
Does Electra Support Will After His Assault?
No, Electra Forrester does NOT support Will after learning he was assaulted — she victim-blames him instead. I can’t even type this without getting angry all over again! When Will finally worked up the courage to tell Electra (Laneya Grace) what happened, she made it ALL about her.
The poor guy’s trying to confide about being drugged and assaulted, and she’s whining about how “horrible” it is that she slept with someone who “slept with another girl the night before.” GIRL, HE WAS UNCONSCIOUS! He didn’t “sleep with” anyone — he was ASSAULTED!
And when he tried to console HER (because apparently she’s the real victim here?), she literally yelled at him not to touch her.
Not. To. Touch. Her.
This man just confessed to being violated and she’s acting like HE’S disgusting? Make it make sense!
Why Are Fans So Angry About the Will/Electra/Luna Storyline?
The fan backlash is UNPRECEDENTED. I opened Reddit after the episode and every single post was about this storyline. “SHAME ON THE ENTIRE BELL FAMILY” was trending. One viewer wrote, “NO HE WAS RAPED” in all caps and got hundreds of upvotes. Another said this was a “disgusting storyline” that trivializes male sexual assault.
Here’s what’s really grinding everyone’s gears:
The writers deliberately had Will use the words “I slept with someone else” instead of clearly stating he was assaulted. They’re framing a FELONY as infidelity! It’s manipulative writing at its absolute worst. They want their stupid love triangle so badly they’re willing to minimize sexual assault to get it.
Can we talk about Electra for a second? Just minutes before Will’s confession, she was telling him how much he meant to her. How she’d never hate him unless he did something bad. Then when he reveals he was VICTIMIZED, she treats him like he’s contaminated.
This is supposedly the same character who has her own stalker trauma with Remy Pryce. You’d think she’d understand what it’s like to be targeted by an obsessive psycho. But nope! She’s too busy making his assault about HER ruined romantic fantasy.
Is Luna Really Pregnant with Will’s Baby?
Luna claims she’s pregnant with Will’s baby after assaulting him. Because of course she is. It’s the classic soap opera baby-trap plot, except this time it involves ASSAULT. The whole thing is sick. Luna drugged him, impersonated Electra (probably using a mask), assaulted him while he was incapacitated, and now she’s using a pregnancy to trap him.
Fans are speculating this pregnancy will either be fake or conveniently disappear. Good! Because if these writers actually try to create a romance between Will and his assailant? This show will lose viewers en masse.
What’s Next for Will and Electra?
Spoilers indicate Will will desperately try to salvage his relationship with Electra next week, but honestly? He deserves SO much better. The damage to Electra’s character is probably irreversible at this point. Fans are calling her “vapid,” “self-centered,” and “a terrible girlfriend.” One Reddit user said it perfectly: “Electra’s character is DONE for me.”
Meanwhile, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) is vowing to “deal with Luna once and for all.” Good! Someone needs to protect Will since his girlfriend clearly won’t. Katie Logan (Heather Tom) is demanding Bill get Luna out of their son’s life “no matter what.”
Don’t be surprised if Steffy Forrester returns in October and goes absolutely nuclear on everyone involved. At least SHE would have the appropriate reaction to her brother-in-law being assaulted!
The Writers Have Crossed a Line
You know what the worst part is? Fans are theorizing the writers are using this ambiguous language so they can “retcon it as not being rape” later. That way they can eventually pair Will with Luna. I’m sorry, WHAT?! A romance with his ASSAILANT?! The fact that this is even a possibility shows how morally bankrupt this storyline is.
The fan community gets it even if the writers don’t. One viewer summed it up perfectly: “Bro, I know he’s a fictional character, but I just want to give Will a damn hug, okay? He’s really being put through the wringer.”
Stalked, drugged, assaulted, baby-trapped, and then victim-blamed by the person who’s supposed to love him most? Yeah. We ALL want to give Will Spencer a hug right now. And we all want to shake some sense into Electra Forrester.
This isn’t drama. This isn’t entertainment. It’s a harmful, tone-deaf storyline that minimizes sexual assault for cheap shock value. The entire Bell family should be ashamed of themselves for this one.
And Electra? She’s officially the worst girlfriend in soap opera history. There. I said it!
