General Hospital recaps for Tuesday, September 23, reveal Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) tried to comfort Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) went missing, and Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) woke up.
Also, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) thought she’d seen a ghost, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) chastised Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), and Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) returned to Port Charles. (Make sure to check out our weekly GH spoilers, here!)
Jason Morgan Opens Up To Britt Westbourne
After getting a delivery of medication from “C,” Britt injected herself and quickly concealed the vials when Jason arrived, assuming he was a repairman sent by Carly to fix her stuck window.
She then gave him a hard time about clearing out the full closet for her use. Jason said he would get to it and took a suit from the closet.
In her typical “Britch” style, Britt asked if he was off to a “formal mob meet and greet,” but toned down her sass when he mentioned that his mother had passed away.
Now more understanding, Britt listened closely as Jason shared how Tracy had asked him to inform Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) about Drew’s shooting and how he had found her gone. “I just wasn’t ready to discover her like that,” he revealed.
Britt Felt Guilty
She put together the timeline of Drew’s shooting three days earlier, followed by Monica’s death, along with her own rescue in Croatia. Britt realized that if it hadn’t been for her, Jason would have been by his mother’s side in her final days.
He reassured her that he had been exactly where he was meant to be, as Monica always wanted him to make the right choices, and saving Britt was indeed the right choice.
He then shared how he had returned to the mansion after Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) passing, so that Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), and Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) could be together.

Jason Shares With Britt
During GH’s Tuesday, September 23 show, Jason was reluctant to admit that he was also doing it for his own sake. He appreciated the moments he had with his mother but regretted not knowing that those were all the moments they would share.
Drawing from her own experiences, Britt suggested that perhaps it was for the best that he didn’t know, so he wouldn’t constantly be anxious about saying goodbye.
Jason didn’t say much, he picked up his suit which he planned to wear at the funeral. With that, Jason departed, wishing Britt good luck on her first day back at the hospital.

Martin Grey’s Mysterious Phone Call – Tracy Quartermaine Is MIA
Across town, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) made a phone call, inquiring if the mystery person on the other end could attend Monica’s memorial service.
Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) visited the mansion to see Tracy and offered her condolences to Brook Lynn Quartermaine Chase (Amanda Setton), Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson), and Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) while she waited.
When Tracy was not around, Michael checked the stables to see if she had taken Hades for a ride. Ned told Lulu that although Tracy was trying to stay strong, she was deeply affected by Monica’s passing; Michael returned with the news that Tracy’s car was missing.
Brook Lynn verified with the housekeeper that Tracy’s overnight bag was also gone — along with her medications, fine jewelry, and Lila Quartermaine’s (Anna Lee) brooch.
Ned Quartermaine Is Worried
Brook Lynn and Michael believed they should let Tracy have some time alone, but Ned thought his mother was deeply affected by the loss of a friend she had for over 50 years, and they needed to track her down.
Michael hurried off to contact Brick (Stephen A. Smith) for help, while Ned went to check if a flight plan had been submitted for the ELQ jet, leaving Brook Lynn and Lulu to wonder where Tracy could be.
As Lulu speculated that her dad might have gone on a drinking spree, an idea struck her. They called Ned and Michael back into the living room, and Ned agreed that Lulu was onto something.
He then made a phone call to ask someone for assistance in finding his mom.
Marshall Ashford Returned
Across town, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) , and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) were thrilled when Marshall came back from his music tour.
However, before sharing stories about his travels, Marshall emphasized the importance of the family uniting to ensure that Curtis wasn’t blamed for shooting “Congressman Cutthroat.”
Pretending to care for Portia to help Marshall, Curtis mentioned that the worst was over now. He said that the fraud charges against Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) had been dismissed and she was back at G.H., but Marshall was adamant that Curtis needed to be safeguarded.

Dante Falconeri Had Questions
Curtis was reluctant to discuss the chance of going to prison in front of Trina, but his daughter insisted on being part of how the family handled the situation.
As he maintained his innocence, Curtis expressed confidence that the PCPD would identify their suspect. At that moment, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) showed up to talk to Curtis, making everyone tense.
ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) was scrutinizing every detail of the investigation, Dante mentioned, so he wanted to review Curtis’s report.
In front of the family, Dante went through Curtis’s description of his actions on the night of the shooting.
Portia Robinson’s Jealousy
Meanwhile, Portia’s jealousy got the best of her when she heard that Curtis met Jordan for drinks at the Brown Dog. Then, Dante said the only time Curtis was missing was when Drew was shot, but Curtis had no alibi for that period.
After escorting Dante to the front door, Portia took a deep breath, grabbed her coat and purse, and told Curtis it was “time to go” before she left in a huff.
Outside, she confronted him for once again choosing Jordan over her, and Curtis retorted that the only reason the police weren’t questioning her about Drew’s shooting was that he was protecting her.
Portia yelled that she didn’t need his help and stated she was finished pretending they had any kind of marriage-with that, she stormed away.
Anna Devane Fills Nina Reeves In
After calling Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to the PCPD, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) revealed that the fingerprints and DNA test of the John Doe in the hospital matched her brother, Nathan.
Nina was convinced the tests were incorrect, but Anna insisted she had seen the man herself. Nina feared that this news would be shocking for her Aunt Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) following Britt’s return and suggested that maybe her cousin had some information about their shared brother.
“I mean, she shows up alive and a couple of days later, her brother supposedly does too?” Anna acknowledged the timing was suspicious, but Nina insisted once more that the man was not Nathan — or “J,” as she referred to him — since they had all attended his funeral.
Anna Confirms DNA & Fingerprints Match Nathan’s
The DNA results and the fingerprint match were clear, Anna noted, and Nina speculated if Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) was responsible. Anna mentioned that she suspected Faison could be involved too, but she had seen his brain preserved in a jar.
“Are you certain it was his brain?” Nina joked. Anna wished Nina would recognize the unconscious John Doe, and identify him, worried that Liesl might not be impartial due to the recent happenings with Britt’s comeback.
Initially, Nina declined, but Anna gradually convinced her, and they made their way to the hospital.
Jordan Ashford Chastised Drew Cain
General Hospital recaps for Tuesday’s show note that Jordan went to see Drew in his hospital room, and they argued about his broken friendship with Curtis; she also confronted him for misusing his authority by having Stella arrested.
When Drew told Jordan he didn’t want to argue because Monica had just passed away, Jordan hoped he would reflect on Monica’s death and his own shooting to reassess his life.
Drew bitterly stated that he had already done that, and the memory he holds is of Monica not letting him return to the family estate.
Jordan argued that Monica cared for him and expected more from him; “If you can’t be a better man for Monica,” Jordan shot back, “then be one for your daughter.”
He insisted that he loves his daughter and then Jordan encouraged Drew to learn from his current situation and be the father that Scout needs before leaving his room.

Stella Watson Is Back To Work
Meanwhile, Felicia greeted Stella as she returned to work and mentioned that there was no news on Maxie Jones’s (Kirsten Storms) condition.
Felicia noted that Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) was putting on a brave face for the kids, but she could see he was struggling. Stella expressed concern that Felicia was focusing on others to avoid facing her own heartbreak.
She urged her friend to prioritize her well-being and take time off to mourn. Later, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) came to the hospital and was excited to see Stella back at her job.
However, Stella was not happy to find out that Martin was once again serving as Drew’s lawyer and realized that he had struck a deal with the congressman in return for her freedom.
Jordan Talked To Stella About Curtis
The next individual to locate Stella at the hub was Jordan, and Stella expressed her gratitude to Curtis’s ex-wife for her role in uncovering Drew’s involvement in the fraud allegations.
Both Stella and Jordan felt relieved that the investigation was over, yet Stella was concerned that the harm might have already occurred.
Jordan disclosed that she had seen Curtis on the night of the shooting but did not think he was connected to the crime.
Stella got a funny look on her face when Jordan said she and Curtis had met at the Brown Dog Bar for drinks. However, Jordan did reassure her that there was no way Curtis would have shot Drew.
Martin & Drew Talk Business
In Drew’s room, Martin informed his client that ADA Turner had contested the injunction he filed to stop the PCPD from accessing the safe’s contents.
While Drew stared blankly ahead, Martin mentioned he was still awaiting the judge’s decision, but he doubted their chances were good.
Finally, turning to his lawyer, Drew admitted he was currently thinking about Monica, not the contents of his safe. “She treated me like a son-until Tracy, Michael, and the rest of the family turned her against me,” he fumed.
As Drew continued to express his frustration, Martin reminded him that he was just his lawyer and that his time was chargeable.
Martin Pushed Back
Martin then suggested that Drew might want to find someone else to help him deal with his grief, perhaps the hospital chaplain or a psychiatrist.
“You’re exactly who I should be talking to,” Drew replied; “My family may have excluded me from Monica’s life, but I refuse to let them exclude me from her will.” One could see that Martin was quickly losing patience with that line of questioning, billable hours or not.
Martin excused himself and then started to walk out of Drew’s hospital room. But not before turning around and snarking at him, “Definitely a psychiatrist!”
Felicia Saw A Ghost
Nurse Chanel Williams (Chantaul Lewis) cared for the unconscious John Doe. When Felicia arrived at the man’s room later, she was stunned to find a man who looked just like her deceased son-in-law lying in the bed, dropping her armload of files.
Shortly after, Anna entered the room and gently guided her longtime friend into the hallway. Nina was waiting there and was surprised by Felicia’s expression as Anna escorted Maxie’s mother down the corridor.
With hesitation, Nina moved closer to the window of the room and gazed through it.
Nathan Woke Up
Summoning her courage to step into the hospital room, Nina approached the bed but abruptly pivoted to leave. Just as she was about to exit, she turned back to the patient and drew up a chair to sit beside him.
Nina gaze fixed on the man who bore an uncanny resemblance to her brother/cousin, tears welling in her eyes. As she cried, Nina grasped John Doe’s hand, and he unexpectedly squeezed it.
Startled, Nina gasped and looked up just as the man awoke with a jolt. “J?” she whispered, meeting his gaze; in response, the man smiled.

Anna & Felicia Talked About The Nathan Lookalike
Meanwhile, GH recaps for the September 23 show note that Anna told Felicia that she needed to collect more information about John Doe before sharing anything with anyone.
Felicia said Mac Scorpio (John J. York) hadn’t shared any information with her either. Anna continued by saying that when the department checked the VIN of the truck where the man was found, the report indicated that the vehicle had been crushed in Mississippi.
Additionally, the man had no identification or phone, but his DNA and fingerprints matched Nathan; “Do you really think it’s him?” Felicia exclaimed.
Anna was uncertain but noted that Britt was also supposed to be dead; “The only person who would know for sure is currently in a coma.”
Felicia said, sadly, referring to Maxie, and expressed concern about how the man’s presence — whether he was Nathan or not — would impact James.
