Marengo Lambert initially began her comic journey with the intention of reflecting on the experience of being an introvert. However, as time passed and her personal struggles deepened particularly with depression, she noticed a shift in the purpose of her work. I started out wanting to express what it’s like being an introvert Marengo explained. But during a particularly rough period of depression, I found that my comics became a way for me to copean outlet for everything I was going through.
In a way, her comics evolved into more than just a creative project they became a lifeline for both herself and her audience. By sharing her emotional journey through relatable and often comforting artwork Marengo has created a space where others facing similar challenges can find connection, understanding, and sometimes even a sense of relief.
